Grandtheft Unleashes Huge Remix EP For ‘Quit This City’

Grandtheft’s Quit This City, is easily one of the most diverse and impressive releases of 2015. So when he decided he wanted to rebirth the project with a remix EP, you know he had to line-up some serious talent. And that he did; landing remixes from the likes of Stööki Sound, Kid Kamillion, Champagne Drip, Pusher, Swick, Smalltown DJs, Spenda C and more. The range of direction is eclectic to say the least. From Pusher’s futuristic flip of the title track, to Stooki Sound’s cold ‘Summer In The Winter’ remix and over to Smalltown DJs housey ‘Politics’ rework, there’s truly a little bit of everything. Not to be outdone, Grandtheft had to get one of his own, reconnecting with Sleepy Tom for the massive ‘Hold On 2.0’. Spenda C’s ‘Big Money’ is a Beast

Australian producer Spenda C is back with what may be his best work to date. ‘Big Money’ was a huge standout in Grandtheft’s recent Diplo and Friends mix but the full release is even better. The track is a club & trap hybrid that’s gritty, massive and energetic. ‘Big Money’ opens with icy keys that are quickly met with some chopped vocals. The first drop is one of the most menacing sounds I’ve encountered since Jackal’s ‘Chinchilla’ and just when you think it can’t get any iller, Spenda takes us to Jersey with some insane vocal chops and slapping kicks. Spenda C feat. Amy Lee & Otis Clapp – Cigarettes

Australian producer Spenda C is back with a bang. His newest release ‘Cigarettes’ featuring Amy Lee & Otis Clapp is hard hitting and addictive. The track starts with some bounce before mellowing out and focusing on Amy Lee’s poppy and catchy vocals. On first listen you might think “this is kinda soft” but once that bass hits you’ll be quick to refract that thought. Otis Clapp comes through with a rap interlude before we get hit with another drop. The twerk genre is beginning to become over-saturated but this new track from Spenda shows there is still a ton of room for originality. Stream below and cop the download on Beatport.
