Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Alex Gonzalez, known by his stage name Spoken Bird, embarked on his musical odyssey during his college years. Spoken Bird Marks Excellent Debut On Liquid Ritual with ‘Tell Me’

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m not sure I’m going to survive this one hell of a week. We’re in the middle of the summer, sun is hitting as hard as in the Gobi desert and tons of incredible heavy music is popping up everywhere. Adiidas, FRQ NCY, Great Dane, Yookie, Holly, all are seriously microwaving my brain with their insane, mental productions. Luckily my good friends at Liquid Ritual came to my rescue, delivering some fine Wave to slow down a little bit and take a moment to lose myself in meditation.

With his debut on the London imprint, the California producer Spoken Bird offers a deeper cut of the genre. ‘Tell Me’ is more than an excellent track, it’s a complete, powerful, introspective experience. The palpable liquid feeling that the track releases, drags our minds on a trip into the depths of the black water of an underground lake where, away from the prying eyes of the world, we feel reassured and intimidated by such loneliness. In this purgatory, we’re taken by hands and guided through our thoughts by ‘Tell Me’s hypnotic pace. The deep and clean bassline and bewitch melody blend in perfect alchemy creating a homey atmosphere, while the percussion, the repetitive vocals, alongside the track’s rich repertoire of sounds, reawaken the curiosity of the listener.
