In an interview with Complex, Bino stated that the mixtape acts as a precursor to the EP. A pretty cool concept and the music doesn’t disappoint either. STN MTN is what you’d expect from Gambino, a creative artist who always pushes himself to discover new flows but this time it’s combined with DJ Drama’s loud ass ad libs and interludes. The EP automatically begins by entrancing you with the mystic sounds of the song ‘Emmanuel’ and showcases the trio’s amazing writing and production ability of capturing emotion through sound. The song seems to give off that feeling of maintaining calm while your heart continues to race until that final moment when all emotions are released and the song breaks.

Flowing in next is ‘Rydia’, my personal favourite. When the song finally kicks in with its classic R&B vocals over the glitchy up-beat undertones you can’t help but nod your head. Side note: Playing this is the song will aid you in your attempts to seduce a lover (one night or long term).

BASECAMP wraps it all up with ‘Smoke Filled Lungs’ finally letting you go and allowing your emotions to fall back into a neutral feeling of contempt. Overall this is just one of those EPs that is so good you feel obligated to purchase it online in support of the artists and their aspirations but let us know your thoughts.
