Ever since it was made public that Subtronics and Chee were roommates late last year, fans have been eagerly awaiting a couple of unreleased collaborations between the two dominant players in the bass scene. While the year passed with no announcement of these tracks coming to light, nobody can deny the extremely fruitful year that both producers have had, seeing an immense rise in fanbase and tour dates. Even over the last few weeks, Subtronics has put out his Wooked on Tronics EP and has collaborated with Kayzo, while Chee has collaborated with Jon Casey on ‘Plymouth,’ has remixed Mad Zach and has released a couple of singles.

Showing no signs of slowing down, Subtronics and Chee return once more to finally unleash their remix of ‘Headband‘ to close out the year with a bang. Flipping the original wonky dubstep banger into a halftime belter of bass, one immediately understands why this has been such a sought-after ID. Keeping the aura of the original alive with the orchestral melody, Subtronics and Chee add some punch to the introduction to really drive the energy. At the sixty-five-second mark, Chee’s influence becomes apparent, as his gruelling sound design and mean synths are prominent throughout the drop. A relentless offering of menacing bass, ‘Headband (Flip)’ is the two artists at their finest. Don’t miss it below.
