If there are two things that we love at FUXWITHIT it’s trap and future beats. When an artist brings the two together it doesn’t get much better. Fusing the sounds effortlessly is LA-based producer TaDa. With 5 FUXWITHIT Premieres and a Guest Mix + Interview, it’s safe to say he’s a favourite among our ranks. Back with an exceptional EP on Slow Roast Records comes Branches. The project is a testament to his growth, originality, and talent as an artist.

The three-track effort kicks off with the standout single ‘Seeds.’ Showing love to the underground, this is easily the most diverse and adventurous of the bunch. The hazy lo-fi atmosphere is quickly escalated with intense synths that amp up the energy. A drums break switches the scene before TaDa traps it out with an exotic flair. When the “worth a couple mill,” vocals are sprinkled in it adds a deeper layer of swag and opulence. The conclusion feels rich and uplifting with a futuristic bounce.

From ‘Seeds’ comes ‘Trees.’ The collaborative effort with Marine Snow and Allways moves from gritty and trapped out, to vibey and meditative, and even over to straight-up jazzy. Never stagnating it’s a refreshing and stunning journey to get lost in. Bringing the EP to a close is ‘Leaves.’ The track is as smooth as glass; expertly blending laidback vibes with some steady knock. This is a late-night cruising anthem to rinse with the windows down.

The goal of this project was show the evolution of my music journey. I wanted to show where I started and where I’m headed so each song has its own evolving theme with the arrangements. I wanted listeners to feel like they’re going on a journey and go through all the emotions with me. The vibes to expect are chill, bouncey, melodic, and high energy since there are aspects of future beats and trap in this project.

capshun, TaDa, Arthus & Lenny. Seeing those 4 names together alone should make this an instant must-listen. If you still need convincing let’s dive into this mega-collab. It’s no secret that these artists are FUXWITHIT favourites so seeing them come together set the expectations high. Not to worry as the talented producers more than deliver with ‘Velocity.’

The laidback and vibey intro provides a serene atmosphere that is slowly ratcheted up. capshun delivers the first drop for a dizzying but clean sound that perfectly fuses future beats and trap. A looped vocal gives way to TaDa’s contribution as he takes things in a dirtier and more gritty direction. The midpoint serves as a smooth rest before Arthus brings the future beat bump to up the energy once more. A menacing chant and the “Lenny fuck me up” vocal prep you for the filthy final drop. Lenny brings the bass with a minimal but massive drop of devastating proportions.

The track came together when Lucid Monday hosted a collab challenge on their discord server a while ago. Challenge was to collaborate with an artist on the server you have never collabed with before, the finished tracks could be submitted and the winner would get featured on the next Lucid Monday drop. Somehow we 4 arranged to work together and started off using a wip by capshun. The whole project was a mess as we sent the stems back and forth tuning and adding stuff here and there. As I was the one to put the final touches on the mix and export it, my laptop had trouble opening and handling the flp. With 224 tracks, it’s by far the biggest project file I’ve worked on so far. Even though the 4 drops (capshun, TaDa, Arthus, Lenny, in order) all have their own feeling, the whole track itself has some spacey, uplifting vibes, hence we decided to call it ‘Velocity.’
– Lenny

‘Velocity’ shows yet again that all four of the artists are next up. Stream it below via Trap Party.

In the realm of delectable SoundCloud trap music, wasteurself and TaDa are two names that have surely been putting in ludicrous amounts of work in the past few years. Flaunting an undeniable bounciness and addictive groove, these two emerging artists turn any listening area into a full-blown dance party. Between TaDa’s guest mix he just did for us, and wasteurself’s countless bangers, it was only a matter of time before these two trap fiends became audible cohorts. Now, they’ve graced the world with their first collaboration in the form of ‘Make It Lower’ out now on More Creativity Records, and we’ve had the great pleasure of premiering it right here on FUXWITHIT.

Creating an air of unbridled excitement that feels reminiscent of electricity coursing through the current space, ‘Make It Lower’ becomes a walking contradiction as it raises exhilaration to borderline irresponsible levels. Wheeling-and-dealing wiggles like no one’s business, this track feels like a masterclass in making people drop it low and twerk to their heart’s delight. With saucily placed quick vocal cuts and impeccable use of space to create sensational swing, it’s impossible to remain fixed in place while ‘Make It Lower’ dominates the airwaves. Where the first drop is the first bass drop of the night that sets your soul on fire, the second is a thick stranglehold around the neck that’s flat-out mean. Utilizing hard-hitting drums and bass face inducing grime, this is one tyrannical way to close out a piece. If you’re even a casual fan of trap and want something that will get your tired bones up and moving, look no further, wasteurself and TaDa have you more than covered. Check out ‘Make It Lower’ for yourself below!

Los Angeles-based producer TaDa is the epitome of an underground favourite. In the past few years he’s put out releases with Above & Below, MYOPIC SOUNDS, Partica Artist Group, Presently Lifted, SUS Collective and Slow Roast Records. With the aforementioned label support and multiple FUXWITHIT premieres it’s safe to say his underground bingo card is fully stamped. TaDa fuses rap influences, wild sound design and healthy knock for an experimental trap sound that’s impossible not to love. A guest mix + interview is honestly overdue with TaDa, so here it is! The mix features a grip of IDs for a gritty half hour of trap heat. As for the interview, we talk about what makes SoCal special, his secret sauce, overcoming the desire to quit music and much more.

What should we expect from the mix?

For this mix I wanted to share the sounds and vibes that have been inspiring me lately as well as my IDs and some friends.

The thing here is that you can dream real big, but you just have to keep pushing because it can swallow you up easily.

What was it like growing up in SoCal? What do you think makes it unique or special?

Growing up here was definitely very eventful and you get to experience a lot of things. Here in LA especially where it’s the melting pot of literally everything. There’s so much culture to absorb, so many different foods and things to try out here. I would say it is one of the most diverse places you can visit. Another thing is that it doesn’t matter what race, gender, or religious beliefs you have because if you are a dope person then people will respect you. No one looks at you differently or excludes you. Other than that, having easy access to the beach is pretty nice. As well as being able to drive to Vegas in a few hours or drive anywhere in SoCal in a few hours and to the bay.

I think what makes LA special are the opportunities you have here. You can become so many things here because the market is huge. Especially if you are trying to be in Hollywood or the music industry this is a great place to be for those. Downside to all this is that so many people believe they can do it and move here only to find out how hard it really is and quit, or fall into drug abuse, blowing all their money, just lose themselves trying to follow their dreams. From living here I have seen a ton of people who had so many aspirations and it looked like they were going to follow their passion, but end up going a different route because there was no trust in themselves, or the competition was too much and they gave up. The thing here is that you can dream real big, but you just have to keep pushing because it can swallow you up easily.

With releases on Presently Lifted, Below, Partica Artist Group & Myopic Sounds, it’s clear you’re an underground favourite. What’s your favorite aspect of the community?

Thank you! I love how the community is so helpful to each other. Don’t think I would have made it this far without the labels mentioned above and meeting so many other like-minded talented individuals in the scene. Everyone helps each other out whether it’s playing each other’s songs in a mix or helping promote it on social media, giving feedback is another big thing that is so awesome, and the fact that everyone hypes each other up haha. I think everyone has the same mutual respect for each other regardless of where they are at in their music career whether you just started producing or a veteran. It’s so easy to do these things nowadays since we have discord servers and twitch. I think those two platforms help so much with building the community and allowing everyone to easily get in touch with each other.

I heard you’re sitting on a lot of IDs. What are your release plans for the next few months?

Right now, I’m not really sure. I don’t have anything planned for any of my IDs yet because I’m not sure if I want to self release, find a label, or even release them. The only track I have planned right now is with wasteurself and that is coming out in December. I actually want to work on more tracks and fine tune more of the route I am going for. So I might not be releasing any bass music for a while. I am working on an R&B EP right now with my friend that I plan on releasing early next year. Very excited about this one because it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now and finally getting it going.

What’s the secret sauce to your sound?

Just some Cholula haha. Honestly I don’t really have any secrets to my sound. I actually don’t know if I have a sound or not. I just make music that I feel best represents me at the moment of creating, but I make sure to give it that bounce and make the drums knock haha.

just don’t overthink it, don’t force it, and just let it flow out of you because you are the vessel for creativity.

You recently said you had one of the weeks where you hate music and feel like quitting. What made you feel this way? Does this happen often? How do you overcome it?

I think it’s something a lot of us producers can relate too. I feel this way when I’m in some sort of creative block and get frustrated with myself. Comparing myself to my peers is a factor also that I’m sure a lot of us can relate to as well. These are all things that I practice everyday to not let happen. Been pretty good with it, but sometimes it comes. It doesn’t happen too often but when it does, it hits. The best way I overcome it usually is tell myself to not overthink shit and just go with the flow. If i’m not being creative or my shit is wack then I step away and go do something else. Sometimes I step away from creating for a week or two then I come back and make like 7 beats in a few days. But most importantly just don’t overthink it, don’t force it, and just let it flow out of you because you are the vessel for creativity.

You dropped an official remix for 2¢ earlier this year, how did that come to be?

First I would like to say shoutouts to Craze and Four Color Zack for allowing me to do that remix!

How it came to be was just one random day I was cooking breakfast and got a DM from Craze asking me if I was down to remix Rebel by 2¢ and to have it released on Slow Roast, so of course I wasn’t going to turn that down haha. He sent me the stems later that day and I immediately began working on it. I’m just grateful he actually hit me up out of all people. I would also like to thank you Colin because I actually met Craze at NAMM this year and he said you showed him my song percz which brought him to me. So shoutouts to you too haha. Without that I don’t think I would have gotten this opportunity.

What’s the best movie, book or show you’ve enjoyed recently? What did you like most about it?

I really enjoyed IT’S ALL IN YOUR HEAD by Russ. I enjoyed that one because it was speaking real facts. It really makes you believe in yourself and get out of your own head. I’d say it’s very relatable as an artist reading it. Russ speaks about how he got successful and the obstacles in his life. I guess a lot of the things he writes about are things I can closely relate to myself, and it just spoke to me. Kind of gave me hope in a way and I know that if I just keep at it and believe in myself then eventually I’ll make it to where I want to be.

What do with your time outside of music?

Outside of music I love to play games. I am a GAMER lol. Other than games I frequently go to the gym, cook, cruise around at night to some chill music, watch sports now that it’s back but mainly football. Fun fact: I played football since I was a kid until about second year of college.

What’s the first thing you’re doing once the world is somewhat back to normal (post COVID)?

Travel. Most definitely travel. I don’t know where, but I need to get out of LA and America for a little bit haha.

I think the choices you make show you your potential, and weeds out everything until you finally reach that point. End of the day it’s just about not giving up and keeping your feet moving.

What’s the best advice you received or favourite quote you read this year?

There’s this quote I saw recently by Neil Strauss was “The purpose of life is to realize your full potential. The challenge of life is to not know what that is yet but still make choices that lead you there.” I think that speaks volume because you have so much potential in life to do so many things, but a lot of times people fall short of it because they are either too scared, someone told them they won’t make it, failed once and thought it was over, or just didn’t have anyone or someone to push them. I think the choices you make show you your potential, and weeds out everything until you finally reach that point. End of the day it’s just about not giving up and keeping your feet moving.

A true pillar and pulsing force behind the underground formerly known as Above and Below the Surface have had a bit of a makeover. They have dropped “the Surface” from their original name to better align with their mission and are now simply Above and Below. This brand is always on the prowl for how they can improve as well as provide for hungry up and coming artists. A two man operation of Jerremy Laesser (THRPY) and Bernard Capistrano (soulecist) who are an absolute power house of a team. When asked about some of these changes, Capistano explains that they are “aiming to drop the booking and agency side and focus moreso on select few artists that have been supportive of us that deserve the attention they have yet to see,” which I believe is an extremely important business shift with the current state of the world and not being able to throw shows. This also allows a platform for these undiscovered artists to shine as they should. In addition to these changes, they have also updated their logo “that is just a lot more simplified and the two pieces make an A / B,” says soulecist, in which it looks pristine and polished. Along with the shift of focus comes the next installment of Sounds From Below with Volume 6.

In the latest installment, the line up of artists could not be anymore top notch. With it containing 9 tracks, one of which is a collab between Danforth and REBRTH, there is plenty of room for each track to radiate. Some of the other names we see are TaDa, jordnmoody and Oh! Gee to name a few. The quality of build behind this compilation is certainly one of their greatest efforts yet. Furthermore, with a restructured brand is this showcase of passion, determination and forward thinking artists coming together. It was difficult for me to choose a few standouts but I had to highlight a couple tracks. Kabes ‘Plague’ first off with its no-nonsense aggression straight out of the gate before it falls into a zone of comfort with a future drop in the second half. I am a sucker for genre switch ups like that. Alex Beal‘s ‘Exodus’ was another that was a surprise for me as I am not very familiar with this name. However, after hearing the flux of authentic trap with a slight bounce at the end, it left me wanting more.

“Another big change is the release schedule, going from once a month to an average of, at least, 3 tracks a month between Above and Below,” explains Bernard Capistrano. Expect more from this newly branded project and scope the latest Sounds From Below Vol. 6 here.

Phillip Gillett, aka IANY, is here to make a statement with his 5 track EP XIBALBA. Representing Chino, CA, IANY has been around music for quite some time. “I grew up watching my grandparents play marimbas in Belize and they were in a band, they then gave me my first marimbas when I was a child so I would play with that. When I was about 11 years old I got my first guitar and learned how to play that then moved on to bass and drums still to this day,” explains Gillett. So how might one with a family history in Belize who plays marimbas come across the world of EDM? Even more specifically, how did he come across this niche community of trap and bass? “My girlfriend took me to my first rave in 2012 and that’s when I was hooked into electronic music and I wanted to learn more about it. What got me inspired to make more trap was the first time when I listened to Milo and Otis. The energy you get when you listen to a trap/bass heavy type of tune is amazing in my opinion. It’s a vibe for sure! And also how I said, I used to play bass and grew up listening to hip hop so I kind of gravitated towards that style a lot more,” says IANY about growing further into the scene. This energy he speaks of is something he has been able to harness and reciprocate in his sounds and music. With XIBALBA being his first full project, not only did he pay homage to his Mayan culture and background, but each track tells its own story.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/834333757″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

IANY · Hero Twins – IANY X U.O.ME

The journey of ‘Hero Twins’ is an interesting one to say the least. “We have had this one sitting in the backburner for near two years. We had everything set except a final section. Me and IANY had been going back and forth for some time mixing in different sounds, but nothing really came out solid for either one of us,” says Angelo from U.O.ME who then elaborates on how ironically quick the track got finished after just a few months where U.O.ME. “found it lodged deep in the archives of my splice projects. Opened her up and got IANY on facetime and within 45 minutes I think we had finally finished the track.” Upon first glance at this two collaborators, before even listening I knew how well these two sounds would mesh together. Both projects lean heavily on creative drum patterns that are trap-oriented with new flavor, as well as some forward-thinking sound design. The intro paints a dystopian soundscape that quickly gives way to hard-hitting sub layers and even harder drum fills and percussion that carries the groove throughout. When asked what each project individual brought to the table during the production U.O.ME. pointed out IANY’s ability to “structure records” was key in the evolution of this record.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/832353244″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

IANY · Rain Won’t Stop

‘Rain Won’t Stop’ begins with a hypnotic melody that slowly fades in, while being accompanied by this story-telling vocal, before being lead through a quick build up. Soon after we are dropped into this drop full of space and delay from the percussion elements, and the subs beautifully filling these spaces. When asked about the process on this track IANY had this to say, “Funny thing with how this song was put together; I actually worked backwards. I created the drop first then the breakdown then the intro then the second drop then went to go add the builds”.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/846124321″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

IANY · Ya’Axche’ – IANY X TaDa

IANY and TaDa were introduced to each other through mutual friends over at Myopic Sounds and had spoken briefly on a collab. “We did send each other some ideas but they all fell through. Then he hit me up later down the line to collab with him on a track for his EP,” says TaDa who goes on to explain how he “was sent the rough idea of the song with everything arranged and all, and I built on it.” When I was first sent this EP, this track caught my attention immediately with not only the feature, but the name as well. In my research of Ya’Axche, it is now a conservation trust that believes in preserving the link between healthy ecosystems in nature and healthy communities in the Maya Golden Landscape of southern Belize, another homage to the culture of Gillett. The intro carries a somber melody that leads into a gloomy environment. Diving further into the track the drum work and percussion play really carry the energy while intertwining with the feeling of darkness.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/805984231″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

IANY · Xibalba

‘Xibalba’ being the title track had to bring a proper spirit to it and it did exactly that. The sounds used have a sense of feeling alive which gives this song an organic feel. Yet, you can tell the finesse of IANY shines through and allows for it to hit properly on a good system. Xibalba has a rough translation to a “place of fear,” and relates back to Mayan mythology. When asked about this theme, IANY said “I’ve always loved Mayan culture, my parents are from Belize so I’ve always been surrounded by that type of stuff. My Grandparents are Mayan so they would always tell me stories about mythology when I was younger so it always stuck with me.”

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/810388117″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

IANY · Underground

The track ‘Underground’ closes out this 5 track project with a statement. When you look deep below the surface what is it that you see? Listening to this track will help paint that image for you. Having the intro carry a breeze, the vocal layover is exceedingly calming. The amount of time taken to develop this song from intro, to build up to drop and everything in between provides a listening experience that not many are able to reciprocate. It encompasses everything one could look for from forward thinking sound design, trap wobbles, dark bass and clean melodies with a hint of future feels towards the end to let you down easy.

The XIBALA EP is a testament to young underground producers ability to create forward-thinking music with nothing but passion, hard-work, and talent. This project truly is a full body of work with each of its collaborators providing necessary additions to each record, making this whole project truly one to look out for. Make sure to check out the whole EP down below!

Back in November Craze & Four Color Zack dropped ‘Rebel’ under their 2¢ collaborative project. With samples including “you can rebel,” and “too many of us are frustrated,” I said it was an anthem for times; halfway through 2020 it couldn’t be more relevant. Giving the track 6 unique takes comes the official ‘Rebel’ remix pack featuring underground favourites thook, XAVAGE, TaDa, Rathero, plus Electro legends MSTRKRFT and a remix from the GOAT Craze.

“Rebel has such a dope message that I knew we had to give it more life with some remixes. So as usual I reached out to some of the new blood that I feel is popping to give it new life. The icing on the cake was MSTRKRFT. They hit us up saying they love the original and would like to remix ….. so DUH! We sent them stems ASAP and they delivered that amazing acidy remix. We’re very happy with this remix pack. Especially in times like this …. we need music with a message but still banging!” – Craze

Kicking things off comes a wild acid house take from MSTRKRFT. The driving flip takes listeners straight into the rave. You can feel the bass in your chest, see the strobes, and smell the sweat dripping off this one. Rathero is up next with a festival trap/club hybrid that’s meant for massive stages and systems. TaDa has been on absolute tear through 2020 and his take on ‘Rebel’ shows us why. It’s peak experimental trap; flexing some filthy sound design with a futuristic knock.

If there’s one thing you can count from thook, it’s that his tracks will absolutely fuck you up. One of the most creative minds in trap and bass crafts the remix that only he could. Sprinkling his signature dust all over ‘Rebel’ the drops will leave your brain twisted into pretzel-like proportions. Keeping the energy ramped-up comes Xavage’s dancey but filthy flip. Drippy synths will have you dropping low while the drums get your feet shuffling. This is party trap music. Bringing things to a close comes Craze’s own take on ‘Rebel.’ The legendary DJ and producer dips into his DnB roots for an energetic and gritty remix that feels like a grimy London warehouse party.

Rebel Remixes provides something for every basshead, leveraging the impactful vocals of the original with incredible new directions. With legends and underground favourites alike, this is a can’t miss.

From the breathtaking mountains to the lush greenery, expansive coast lines and overall positive vibe, there’s something magical about Hawaii. TaDa’s latest release fittingly titled ‘Left My Heart In Hawaii’ is a love letter to the incredible island region. Inspired by his travels and connection to the islands, the release packs the transcendent beauty of its muse with a hint of longing. “I want the listeners to feel a euphoric, happy, warm feeling. Something to jam, relax, or drive too. Also to remind them if they have been there or get a feel for how it is in Hawaii. I definitely put a lot of happy emotions into the song, but also a sort of sad kind of vibe that I won’t be there again for a while haha. Mainly happy, summery, loving emotions though, and a chill vibe to represent how laidback it is out there,” TaDa tells us.

‘Left My Heart In Hawaii’ pairs upbeat feels with alluring vocal bends and shimmering synths. The opening feels like a day spent with your favourite person cruising the island in a Jeep with the doors off. Adding a further layer of depth comes a live saxophone section that switches the mood from bright sunshine to sunset vibes. “The sampled sax I had in there had a really cool melody which I then changed to rhodes and put in towards the end of the song now but before that it was a solo during the bridge and one of my genius musician friend called me out on it and said it sounds like shit cause it doesn’t have any real characteristics and to get someone to play live sax lmao. I agreed only because I have a lot of live instrumentation in there already like the ukulele on the second half of the first drop and rhodes in the bridge as well as an organ in the second drop. It did make a difference because it glued together all the live instrumentations and it sounded a lot more real than the sampled sax haha,” explains TaDa.

If you’ve spent time in Hawaii this one is sure to bring back all the incredible memories you have, from hiking the Pillbox to cooling at Kailua Beach. With vacation plans on pause for most around the world, let this track be your ticket to paradise.

What is your favorite hot sauce? Some praise Sriracha, some enjoy Cholula, others prefer Tapatio. As for myself I can’t get over the newest ‘Sauce In My Pocket’ which is hand crafted by the revolutionary team of KUREI and TaDa. In the hot sauce community there has been such a passion for finding the perfect blend between spice level and taste, well these two have perfected it with this track. How did KUREI and TaDa link to make something that exceeds your every day average Scoville scale readings yet can be used on anything? The history behind the creation of this sauce is just as enthralling as the tune itself.

Craig Pendleton (KUREI) and KennyTa (TaDa) first met at Icon Collective where they attended at the same time. However, it wouldn’t be until a few years after that they would really connect and begin the talks of a collaboration. After deliberating for an extended period, KUREI decided it was time to send TaDa some of his work to check out. “I had originally sent him what I had done so far which was the first drop and intro, almost the same day he had sent back his idea for the second drop and we just went from there,” explains Pendleton. The sheer energy of their teamwork shines through heavily in this track and I would be surprised if this is not the last time we see them work together. “Definitely one of the easiest most cohesive collabs I’ve ever worked on, he really just built off of my original idea and it all came together,” says KUREI.

‘Sauce In My Pocket’ presents an unprecedented bounce and ruthless trap atmosphere. These two producers are arguably the top up and comers of the trap scene. Both of them carry such a natural swag and energy that it only made sense for them to pair up. This sauce can be enjoyed on a variety of dishes, simply add a few drops (or the whole bottle) and see for yourself why this beats out every other try hard sauce. I encourage everyone to pop the lid and digest it completely, until then grab a free sample here.

How can we be Champions of the Underground without supporting someone like TaDa? Kenny Ta, the L.A. beat-maker, burst on to the scene last year with some of the freshest takes on trap we’ve seen, utilizing the space within his tracks to build rhythm and flow while injecting life into them with creative sample choices and insane sound design. We’ve already had the honor of premiering his collab with PWDR ‘IN MY CUP,’ and this time TaDa returns to the site once again with his new single ‘whispers.’

Fitting for the title, the intro showcases an eerie whisper sample lurking in the background of a tension-building first section, filled with creative percussion elements and ghostly risers. Following this, in true TaDa fashion, we’re hit with a barrage of masterfully crafted 808s that seem to perfectly dance around the detailed percussion work and intentional space left in the track. Immediately after this portion, we’re met with another build-up in which a spazzy vocal sample is introduced. The vocal sample is chopped and manipulated throughout the second drop, all the while being complemented by those juicy 808s. Needless to say, trap arms are fully activated here.

We got the chance to check in with TaDa, and try to pick his brain about his workflow and writing style, “I usually like to go into a project with a free mind so I can just experiment with things and have no endpoint or wanting the result to sound like this song or that song. That usually puts me in a creative block if I start trying to reference and stuff.” He also let us in on a little fun fact about this record, “This was a track I made for the Insomniac Countdown competition.” Oh boy, we sure are glad it ended up in our hands!

Expect big things from the trap innovator in the new year as he looks to solidify himself in the scene, “I have a track coming out with a good friend of mine on Partica’s compilation next month. I also have releases planned for up until around April/May which are all self-releases at this point. I am playing a show in LA in March and this will be my first debut show ever so pretty stoked on that!” Make sure to check ‘whispers’ out below and grab the free download.
