There is no denying that bitbird boasts one of the most impressive rosters that constantly put out innovative, refreshing and emotional music. That is a well known fact. However, sparks always shine brighter when their talented core artists come together on a track. Think of DROELOE and San Holo’s ‘Lines of the Broken,’ DROELOE and Taska Black’s ‘Running Away,’ or San Holo and Duskus’ ‘forever free.’ Each artist has a unique, ingenious style, but the beauty is unmatched when paired together.

Now, another exceptional collaboration is here to grace our ears, namely ‘Be There One More Time’ from Taska Black and Duskus. Both known for keeping future bass fun in their own respective ways, the two artists coming together has been a long time coming. Although made over quite a distance, Taska Black and Duskus synced on the nostalgic feeling of the song immediately. ‘Be There One More Time’ is about cherishing these beautiful memories you have and allowing yourself to relive them and feel the same joy as you did back then. Combining that with the sounds you love from both producers, ‘Be There One More Time’ is sure to put a massive smile on your face upon pressing play.

There is no better pairing than Taska Black’s raw musical emotion and Duskus’ lighthearted signature bounce. Don’t miss their latest collaboration below.

There’s no denying that San Holo and his team at bitbird have created one of the most encouraging, fan-friendly collectives in music. Consistently spreading positivity and happiness through social media outlets and beyond, San Holo has become an idol for many aspiring musicians through his ceaseless showing of gratitude for his fans. To return the favour, fans of the bitbird label-head should attend the album1 tour if it stops by a place near you, as it is a remarkable showcase of San’s continuous grind.

Since its release in September of last year, San Holo has been busy touring the world showcasing his album1 project in a new, unparalleled live show that blurs the lines between a concert and a rave. When I found out that the Dutch musician was going to be in Amsterdam for the final show of the European leg, there was no question that I had to attend. And, despite dozens of shows and countless hours of travelling, it was obvious that San Holo gave it his all for his hometown (well, home country) crowd.

As the first and only opener, Taska Black took the stage early to deliver a whirlwind of a set as the crowd gathered. It’s not obvious getting people to a show at 7:30, and the room was fairly empty when he first took the stage, but as the crowd quickly grew, so did Taska Black’s energy. After only ten minutes into his set, it was obvious why San Holo chose such a talented artist as the opener to his tour. Playing a diverse mix of his originals and remixes as well as future bass and trap classics (think along the lines of Point Point’s ‘All This’), the Antwerp native had the crowd going wild for the entirety of his set.

When San Holo took the stage, the room was fully packed. The venue played to San’s advantage with a large dance floor and two levels of surrounding balconies, perfect for fans who either wanted to get sweaty in the crowd or enjoy the show from a distance. Among the latter included dozens of San Holo’s family and friends who gathered from around the Netherlands to support their Zoetermeer-born legend.

San Holo’s performance was truly exceptional. Playing album1 (mostly) in order while peppering in classics such as ‘We Rise’, the ninety-minute set was a beautiful offering of San’s musical genius. From playing the guitar riffs and singing the lyrics of his tracks live, to throwing in some emotional guitar solos, to getting behind the decks and making live edits of his soul-stirring originals, San Holo had the crowd engaged from start to finish. The time and effort spent into making the experience sonically and visually immersive did not go unnoticed, and the energy poured into his performance made it difficult to believe this was his eleventh show of the month. Although he spoke Dutch to the crowd for the majority of the show, there’s no denying the connection he made with the die-hard fans in the front row, while also acknowledging the people in the stands on multiple occasions, catering the show to all who attended.

An encore featuring another riveting guitar solo and the euphoric ‘Light’ capped off the phenomenal evening. As this was the first live performance of a producer that I’ve witnessed, San Holo set the bar high for these concert-rave crossovers. Any fan of both indie and electronic music will have the time of their life at San Holo’s album1 tour. Get your tickets here if he comes to a city near you in the coming months.

The second single from bitbird‘s highly anticipated Gouldian Finch 03 is here! Prior to its full release in April, fans were first put at ease with San Holo’s future-indie ‘Lead Me Back‘, and now it’s Taska Black and Sem‘s turn to dazzle your spirits. With the former establishing himself as a bitbird favourite since his introduction to the label and the latter quickly following suit with his collaboration with and remix for DROELOE, it was only a matter of time until these creative minds came together.

Teaming up with the familiar vocalist CUT_, the Belgian and Dutch producers construct an emotive roller coaster in ‘All I Know’. Soul-stirring vocals and an aura of bliss shine throughout the introduction, as Taska Black and Sem gradually build into a euphoric ballad. Through powerful synths and captivating melodies, the two innovative artists don’t hold back on emotions, as they have consistently done so well in the past. Incorporating acoustic elements flawlessly within electronic sounds is truly what makes ‘All I Know’ stand out, displaying Taska Black and Sem’s true creative genius.

Known for melding an inexplicable amount of raw emotion and dazzling melodies into his future-influenced tracks, Belgium-based Taska Black has only continued to evolve and refine his sound since first catching eyes in the future bass scene with his debut release ‘Leave Me’ on BitBird’s Gouldian Finch compilation in 2016.

Following closely in-suit, BitBird founder San Holo enlisted the Antwerp native for two official remixes on his coveted Light EP, providing the necessary foundation for two innovative minds to connect and collaborate, which has since evolved into a string of shows throughout Europe featuring the pair.

Marking his debut BitBird EP, MINDS further demonstrates the creative discipline and unparalleled innovation to blend pop vocals and sensational future bass synths for an immersive, emotional experience within each track.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/playlists/644975115″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”450″ iframe=”true” /]

MINDS depicts the interpersonal struggles associated with anxiety and stepping out of one’s comfort zone and portrays a wearisome battle Taska faced between the rapid success of his music career and the mental anguish associated with periods of high stress and frequent travel.

While most projects tend to highlight the positives, MINDS adopts, a more authentic narrative of the life of a touring producer, beginning in a place of euphoric innocence with ‘Intro’ and evolving into more impassioned tracks such as ‘Get Out Of My Head’, which he uses to provide a stark contrast between the perception and reality of living such a high-stress life.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/530718870″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true” width=”100%” height=”300″ iframe=”true” /]

‘In The End’ featuring a stunning vocal accompaniment from Aviella provides an emboldened conclusion to the project. A high-pitched vocal melody and retro synth-pattern lay the foundation for a vibrant chorus, which transitions seamlessly into a warm, sanguine ensemble of strings and light drum kicks.

Despite the interpersonal struggles that influenced the trajectory of MINDS, Taska Black’s unparalleled talent of finding the positives in even the most daunting of situations shines through this entire project.

Be sure to give the entire project a thorough listen and check out this super neat music video put together for the pre-released single ‘Losing Our Minds’ featuring Nevve.

bitbird‘s core roster are continuously pushing musical boundaries. Along with San Holo, artists such as DROELOE, BeauDamian and Taska Black are blurring lines between indie and electronic music, giving dance music euphony and emotion. This genre-defying mentality is on full display in the label’s latest release, a beautiful single from Taska Black titled ‘Get Out Of My Head’ featuring Midoca. Ahead of his MINDS EP out on November 16, the Belgian producer has treated fans with one of his most soul-stirring works to date.

‘Get Out Of My Head’ is “all about how I turn into myself whenever I had panic attacks or when I was stressed or worried,” says Taska Black. The track starts off with a calming xylophone-sounding loop that is met by Midoca’s emotive vocals and a guitar riff that will immediately have listeners feeling saccharine. Additional layers are added until Taska Black unleashes a powerful drop highlighted by punchy percussion and euphoric synths. Taska Black’s use of instruments such as the violin flawlessly bridges the drops with Midoca’s poignant vocals. ‘Get Out Of My Head’ is bound to be another bitbird classic.

A flick through the tune catalogue of New Zealand’s bass/trap creator Ian Munro and it’s hard to not see what an extraordinary talent he has. With projects for the likes of Quality Goods regularly reaching the masses, make sure you don’t overlook wicked remixes for the likes of Mt Eden, UZ and QUIX.

His most recent single ‘Right Now’ ft. Yuneer Gainz can be checked out here, and give his 5 track Floor Fillers selection a listen below.

MEMBA & Mothica – ‘Chasing Light’

The power and emotion in this track gets me every time. It’s not shy of sounding too ‘pop-y’ and it’s not shy of sounding too weird. MEMBA have been killing it recently.

Taska Black – ‘We Would Never Do’ (feat. Nevve)

I’m a big fan of what Taska does – and this track perfectly combines the energy of bass music and the musicality and emotion that it often lacks.

Rich The Kid – ‘Listen Up’ (prod. LMC & Danny Wolf)

Huge shoutout to the homie LMC representing NZ with this placement. Best track off the album in my opinion.

Illenium – ‘Leaving’ (AWAY Remix)

I have a lot of respect for anyone who does things differently. AWAY’s latest releases have been nothing short of impeccable and this remix is no exception.

Lemay – ‘Over Me’ (feat. Maize)

One of the more overlooked songs on his EP – this one is just too weird not to love. The rhythm and the synths shouldn’t work, but they do.

Delusion is a bass producer with some serious flair, and he has just returned to the game after a production break for two years. His form shows no dip, with new track ‘Because Of You’ ft. Akacia sounding incredible.

The German artist is responsible for some killer remixes that first caught our attention; with edits for SG Lewis and Pham racking up incredible amounts of streams when they dropped a couple of years back.

With plenty of fresh material on the horizon, Delusion is one to watch this year as he continues to develop his creative signature style. He shares the five varied tunes he is currently rolling out with us – sit back and enjoy!

1) Chrome Sparks + Kllo – ‘I Just Wanna’

Chrome Sparks is able to combine modern and analog sounds to something really good. I really love the synth-work and the texture he creates within his tracks.

2) Taska Black feat. Ayelle – ‘Dead Inside’

Best track by him so far. Melancholic synthesiser pads paired with some trappy drums lead to something which sounds almost like a cinematic soundtrack.

3) Amir Obe – ‘Cigarettes’

Found Amir Obe a few days ago via Spotify. Really dope tracks.

4) Ben Khan – ‘2000 Angels’

I’ve been in love with Ben’s music for a few years and now he finally released something new.

5) Francis Novotny – ‘Hit & Run’

Not well known yet but I am sure this boy has a bright future ahead. Crisp vocals and creative production and sound design.
