Fans of FUXWITHIT are undeniably fans of sumthin sumthin. With our first feature of the artist dating back to early 2017, the LA-based artist has continuously impressed with his versatility in beat-making, landing him one accolade after the next, and rightly so. Now, hot off the mesmerizing ‘Nightmares‘ via Jadū Dala, sumthin sumthin looks to ride his momentum into a new single titled ‘Technicolor’ alongside Mirror Maze. While the latter artist has a less extensive repertoire of releases under his belt, Mirror Maze has proven to be an up-and-coming force, with a single on VALE and a collaboration with FLY already beefing up his discography. Together, sumthin sumthin and Mirror Maze craft an enthralling journey that strengthens their foothold on the bass scene.

Mirror Maze and sumthin sumthin waste no time getting to the meat of the track, as a brief introduction quickly transforms into a minimal halftime drop highlighted by crunchy basses and rhythmic percussion. An intriguing transition brings listeners to a light-hearted middle section ripe with jubilance, providing a welcome contrast to the sinister prologue. Interestingly, ‘Technicolor’ then bridges into a flawless intersection of the two opposing opening thirds to close out in style, conflicting listeners in the best way possible with a dark bassline and an upbeat top layer. The name ‘Technicolor’ suits the track perfectly, as it is equally technical as it is colourful (I’m Canadian, I have to spell it with a “u”), and blends the influences of both producers to a tee. Don’t miss it below.
