Trippy Turtle Is Going On Tour

One of our favourite Club producers, Trippy Turtle, is headed out on tour soon. Kicking off in Norway in September, the turtle will be hitting the UK, Germany, the US and Canada. The full list of dates and cities is below. You can cop tickets for the tour here. For our local fans in Toronto, be sure to check Trippy Turtle at The Velvet on November 3rd. The tour is in support of his upcoming EP. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out his first two singles ‘Animal’ and ‘Lettuce’.

Trippy Turtle’s ‘Animal’ Is As Absurd As It Is Banging

A few weeks back Trippy Turtle announced his debut EP. Furthering the excitement comes the first single ‘Animal’. It’s what you’d expect from Trippy – a dirty Jersey number that’s equal parts banging and absurd. What make this one standout from his previous work is two fold. First it appears to feature vocals from the Turtle himself (along with another unknown animal) . On top of that, it features wild progression utilizing a myriad of voices, effects, backdrops and chops. Add in the catchy and absolutely ridiculous lyrics (“Fofo get the money, had a three some with a bunny”) and it’s a smash. Stream it below and look for the Trippy EP coming soon.

Trippy Turtle Gives Us A Jersey Rework of ‘Slide’

Everyone’s favourite club producing amniote, Trippy Turtle, is back with another remix to heat up the party. The Turtle takes on the Calvin Harris, Frank Ocean & Migos mega hit ‘Slide’. The rework retains the summery feel of the OG while sprinkling in some heavy kicks, pitched vocals and raw vocals chops. He also drops in a few Drake and N.E.R.D. samples cause why wouldn’t you? Trippy Turtle Flips 50 Cent on ’21’

There’s not much better than a surprise Trippy Turtle drop. Tonight we received just that with the Turtle unleashing his 50 Cent & Nate Dogg flip of ’21 Questions.’ The fittingly titled ’21’ takes the classic cut to Jersey. Of course, Trippy chops and freaks the beat with ease paying respect to the OG, while priming it for the club. It’s nostalgic, fun, silly, and stupid nice. Trippy Turtle Is Back With Two New Tracks

Trippy Turtle is back! Everybody’s favourite turtle has finally come out of his shell and blessed us with two new tunes. The first is a rework of Drake’s summer anthem ‘Controlla’ that blends jersey feels with rays of sunshine. The club meets dancehall vibe is impossible to resist and guaranteed to get your party going. The second drop is a flip of Becky G’s ‘Sola’. It packs a similar warm weather feel with a smattering of samples that let you know it’s Turtle on the beat hoe. Blast both and tell a friend the turtle is back.

Trippy Turtle’s ‘Drunk Texting’ blends Dj Sliink with Drake, Andre 3000 & More

The Turtle is no stranger to weaving together a smattering of samples to make a club banger but ‘Drunk Texting’ is pretty next level. The track features bits and pieces from everyone from DJ Sliink, to Jhene Aiko, Drake, Chris Brown, Andre 3000, Usher and more. The long list seems like it would feel disjointed and confused, but Trippy pulls them together effortlessly. It’s no surprise that Trippy Turtle likes to celebrate World Turtle Day. Last year he gave away his entire discography for free. This year he has opted to celebrate with a club flip of Chance the Rapper’s ‘So Good (Good Ass Intro)’. As you’d you expect, it features some hard kicks, smooth breaks and clever vocals chops that sound as if Chance was in the studio recording this one. Trippy Turtle is back with what may be his most fun loving track yet. ‘FoFo’ pulls together a smattering of samples including O.T. Genasis ‘CoCo’, Drake’s “Left your mark on me”, Big Sean vocals and a ton of gun clicks, water droplets and of course, a few bed squeaks for good measure. My favourite part is near the songs close as the producer layers water drops over hard kicks for a creative flip on his signature sound. The track is absolutely ridiculous and impossible to resist. Stream below. I’m in love with FoFo and you will be to.
