Back in 2016, Tunji Ige was one of the exciting and promising new rappers out. From his exceptional Missed Calls EP, which featured heaters like ‘All Night,’ ‘Bring Yo Friends’ and ‘On My Grind,’ to the incredible collaboration ‘Feel It’ with What So Not & GTA, it seemed he could do no wrong. Yet after making major waves, Tunji seemed to practically disappear just over a year after he made such an impressive impact. A recent tweet looks to suggests the drought in musical output was a result of contractual issues. Thankfully for fans, the drought is over as Tunji just uploaded 5 fresh tracks.

The 5 track pack seems to be a handful of loosies to build hype for what’s destined to be a massive 2020, with Tunji promising a new single and a plan to “flood 2020.” The recent releases are a reminder of what made Tunji so impressive when he first landed on our radar. From his wavy flow, to the catchy hooks, fresh and bumping beats and tight bars. ‘Roll Out,’ ‘Hot Box’ and ‘Drunken Master’ are early standouts but the whole pack is worth your time. Stream below and look out for Tunji in 2020.

Two of the best in bass music colliding with one of my favourite new rappers is truly a dream come true. With the announcement came expectations; seeing this much talent on one tune sets the bar pretty high. That said ‘Feel It’ meets and exceeds expectations. The progression and disregard for genres make it especially impressive. In the span of three and half minutes it moves from emotive and stirring, to triumphant, smooth and groovy, and weird and wonky. You’d expect the wide array of sounds to leave it sounding disjointed but it’s all woven together perfectly. Stream it below and look out for GTA’s debut album GOOD TIMES AHEAD 10/7.
