Skrillex season is in full effect. The last month has seen the legendary producer unleash his Show Tracks EP before releasing his second collaboration with TroyBoi, and the months prior have seen a steady flux of new music from the production wizard. Furthermore, 2019 marks the official return of Dog Blood, where Skrillex and Boys Noize have taken the world by storm with their infectious rave-ready anthems. Choosing to omit the Dog Blood alias, Skrillex and Boys Noize are back with another solid club banger, this time tapping familiar vocalist Ty Dolla $ign to deliver ‘Midnight Hour.’

‘Midnight Hour’ is not your typical Skrillex and Boys Noize track. The former’s recent pop-leaning influences are heard throughout the introduction, with Ty Dolla $ign laying down a mellow verse. Boys Noize makes himself heard around the thirty-second mark, with rhythmic percussion laying the foundation for the rest of the track. There is a constant battle between radio-ready hit and late-night anthem throughout ‘Midnight Hour,’ despite both influences never sound out of place – a true testament to Skrillex and Boys Noize’s undeniable production prowess. Destructo’s Renegade EP comes with a tour this spring

Destructo has a stacked roster for his latest EP – Renegade boasts featured artists such as iLoveMakonnen, Pusha T and E-40, and one can only hope that they join him for his upcoming spring tour.

As the EP progresses, the G-house vibe gets heavier with each song – save a brief trap interlude near the end, from the title track with Freddie Gibbs. Special mention goes to his collab track with Wax Motif: embedded in the heart of the EP, the deep bass combined with Pusha & Starrah‘s overlaying vocals will get you bouncing without even realizing it.

Ty Dolla $ign – Stand For (DJ Mustard Remix)

DJ Mustard is back with his second remix in less than two weeks. Taking on the Diplo produced ‘Stand For’ from Ty Dolla $ign, Mustard spreads his West coast bounce all across the track. With some energy inducing builds and drops that will please any trap/twerk heads this is sure to pop off in the clubs. The track was co-produced by DJ Freedo (Twice As Nice Productions), Ricky Mears & DJ Iknoso who also worked on the ‘7/11’ remix. There’s nothing I love more than Rap and Electronic music. So anytime the two are combined in an exciting way, I’m all about it. The most recent fusing of the two genres seems to be hard hitting Rap and Deep House. One producer at the forefront of this is LA native, Destructo, with his G-House movement. His most recent release ‘West Coast EP’ pairs his bass heavy production with some of the best LA artists in the game. From legends like Warren G, Too $hort, and Kurupt to today’s newest stars YG, Ty Dolla $ign, and Problem. The tracklist is hard to ignore and the music exceeds expectations.
