umru Straddles Underground And Mainstream In ‘search result’

Estonian-American producer umru has gone from SoundCloud golden boy to esteemed beat-maker in just a couple of short years. His heavy-hitting beats and unique approach to sound design has garnered the attention of respected producers such as josh pan, y2k and A. G. Cook, before eventually earning production credits on pop mogul Charli XCX’s Pop 2 mixtape. This quick rise to dominance has culminated into umru’s first full body of work, an eclectic six-track EP titled search result, out now on PC Music.

In signature umru fashion, the young producer combines his experimental beats with catchy vocals to sway between underground and mainstream vibes with ease. Along with the previously-released ‘sticky’ and ‘popular’, search result is comprised of four more boundary-pushing songs. Although every track is unique, they all inherently capture umru’s essence as a producer, with metallic synths and chaotic sounds somehow sounding beautifully harmonious. With the exception of the intro, ‘recurse’, and the outro, ‘linkrot’, umru makes his counterparts’ vocals shine without undermining his own pristine production.

With this monumental project, we wouldn’t be surprised to see umru join the ranks of pop music’s most forward-thinking producers in the near future. Don’t miss search results below.

umru and Holly are two of the most interesting up-and-coming producers at the moment. Both have a knack for outside the box sounds and insane sound design. For many bass fans seeing them collide is a dream come true. ‘Sacrifice’ takes listeners into a world of violent darkness. Rap vocals are sliced and diced over distorted bass lines, razor sharp synths and chest-pounding drums. Staying true to their signatures, this one continues to evolve throughout, somehow growing more and more brooding with every beat. Lido Drops Massive ‘Everything’ Remix Album

Last year, Lido released his incredible full length project Everything. The album showcased the breadth of his talent and cemented him as one of the most impressive artists in electronic music. Remixing such a stellar body of work is no easy feat, but Lido found a crop of artists that were more than up for the challenge. From heavy weights like Alison Wonderland, Brasstracks and Dan Farber to under the radar talents like mossy., Soft Glas and umru. What makes this release so great is the variety and quality of each rework. The tracks are completely re-envisioned, building upon peices of the originals and creating something completely different.
