Based out of Sydney, Australia william.’s talent for production first materialized via an impeccable rendition of Flume’s ‘Wall Fuck’ that caught fire the moment it was released and is still utilized as a staple build and drop in live sets to this day.

“T1R and I started writing that track when he was over in Sydney last. In just a few hours ‘Slurps’ came to fruition as a result of bouncing ideas and stems off of one another until we had a polished finished product,” William shares regarding the nearly instantaneous connection that he and T1R shared, which furnished the inspiration for their latest release.

Likewise, Auckland-based T1R demonstrates a similar prodigious mastery for concocting complex beats with more bounce than a pogo stick. His debut release ‘Merce’ paints a vivid picture of the creative aptitude and innovative technique that the New Zealand-native totes with ease, while ensuing releases such as ‘mask’ and ‘conk’ further divulge the precision and dexterity of T1R’s sound.

“william. has been a producer I’ve wanted to collaborate with for a minute, always been a big fan of his music. We had the opportunity to link up for a day whilst I was in Sydney recently and we bounced a few ideas off each other…it was like a WWE tag-team match but from a production sense, within a few hours we had ourselves a solid track,” he reflects on the experience working alongside william.

‘Slurps’ is a producer’s wet dream, devoid of vocals entirely the track utilizes a cinematic introduction to build a whirlwind of anticipation as the first drum strikes into a rhythmic, tribal chanting. A muffled riser pierces the background as a dastardly breakdown unearths a sedated cadence of crisp percussion, exacting beat breaks, and an eerie water-like sensation.

What listens sonically as a collaboration meant to be, ‘Slurps’ demonstrates the upper echelon of production, utilizing minimal components for maximum impact. We thoroughly anticipate the next opportunity for William. & T1R to combine forces.

Since releasing his stellar EP Telekinesis, William. has been on fire. He’s remixed Dabow, collaborated with Rad Hatter and dropped some wildness on Phuture Collective. Keeping his momentum going full steam comes his latest single ‘The Rat King’. We first heard the track in Cozway’s FUXWITHIT Guest Mix and have been waiting for the full release ever since. Today we have the pleasure of premiering the massive new release.

‘The Rat King’ is 4 minutes of absolute madness. Distorted hip-hop leaning vocals form the foundation over an ethereal soundscape that’s glitched out. The first drop brings us straight into the sewers. It’s gritty, hard-hitting, dark and disorienting. But the madness isn’t all encompassing, a hopeful undertone finds its way through, like a beam of light trying to fight the darkness. The attempt is short-lived as the darkness once again surrounds you and takes you deeper into the subterranean sounds for a filthy conclusion.

If you like your music experimental, dark and dirty, ‘The Rat King’ might take the crown.

From the community acclaimed ‘Wallfuck‘ edit and the first future bass originals and remixes, to the more recent outrageous bass efforts (‘The Throne‘ and ‘Strange’ above all), the evolution of the william. project has been radical but has blessed us with one of the most crazy creative producers in the game. This metamorphosis has been one of the stories I’ve most devotedly followed through the last few years and, now that it has reached its pivotal moment and I’m more than thrilled to see where it’ll go next. The ‘Telekinesis’ EP indeed, works both as an ending and starting point. It works as the last stop of the growth’s journey and, more essentially, it launches william.’s new identity.

The collection unexpectedly starts with a pulpy, jazzy introduction that, despite the unsettling title ‘Existential Crisis’, sets a chill dreamy lo-fi mood. After this 1 minutes long limbo, the descent to hell starts with ‘Nutty’ that brings the journey under a dark light but without being aggressive. The convoluted drops are nestled in a frame of meditative ambient moments that unload the pressure on our synapses. The next step, ‘Apparition’, begins on the same line, but soon goes way harder, in a very X&G manner. With ‘Blop Hopper’ and the title track ‘Telekinesis,’ william. showcases his excellent sound design skills erasing any empty space in the sound spectrum, it’s like there’s no a single particle out of its place, the atmosphere is so highly compressed and saturated that in some moments I really feel like I’m drowning.

You can listen and buy ‘Telekinesis’ here or below.
