It feels like it has been forever since we’ve gotten a solo release from Zomboy, and rightly so. Before his collaboration with NGHTMRE titled ‘Shellshock‘ dating back to late October, the legend of modern dubstep had been on a hiatus of almost two years, surely working in the depths of his dungeon conjuring up the mightiest of tracks. Nonetheless, the British producer has risen from the ashes once more to deliver the final Never Say Die release of 2021, ‘Valley Of Violence.’

Simply said, ‘Valley Of Violence’ is quintessential Zomboy, hitting fans in all the right place and scratching that itch that has been nagging for the duration of his absence. With hints at older releases that true fans are sure to catch peppered throughout the track, the artist laced his latest release with Easter eggs from the past while showcasing a continuous evolution in his gut-wrenching sound. The introduction kicks things off in high gear, with an unnerving soundscape quickly building into an orchestral, mainstage-ready section. Then, all hell breaks loose, as Zomboy demonstrates why he is considered one of the best with a foundation-shattering barrage of dubstep brutality. Doing what he does best, Zomboy concocts a frenzy-inducing drop that will snap the neck of any unsuspecting bystander. ‘Valley Of Violence’ only gets more intense as it progresses, so strap in for a wild ride.

We have also been assured that this marks a musical comeback for Zomboy that is going to carry over into 2022. Until then, dive into ‘Valley Of Violence’ below.

There is no better time for Zomboy to return from a nearly two-year long hiatus than two days before Halloween. The legendary producer, known for his core-shattering sound design and heavy hitting basses, has been quiet since the dawn of the pandemic, surely conjuring up a healthy dosage of wicked tracks that will hopefully see the light of day soon enough.

Today, the British producer’s revival comes in the form of an epic collaboration with NGHTMRE and vocalist Georgia Ku. A sonic titan in his own right, NGHTMRE has dabbled across various genres of electronic music and beyond, earning just about every accolade in this musical sphere. Together, the two veterans celebrate Gud Vibrations‘ 100th release with ‘Shellshock,’ a menacing dubstep brute that beautifully combines their respective styles with Georgia Ku’s powerful vocals.

“I don’t do many collabs. But when I do it’s always something special. When NGHTMRE approached me with this amazing topline from the super talented Georgia Ku, it was a no-brainer to jump on the track! What a great way to celebrate Gud Vibrations’ 100th release,” says Zomboy about his latest. The introduction of ‘Shellshock’ is a gradual build to euphoria, as NGHTMRE and Zomboy paint a grandiose soundscape underneath the angelic vocal layer. As the track progresses, the instrumentals start to dominate, until the drop turns the piece into utter dubstep insanity. With Zomboy’s sound design leading the charge and NGHTMRE’s meticulous attention to detail providing a welcome addition to the drops, ‘Shellshock’ is sure to become a mainstage favourite with its undeniable headbang-inducing energy and catchy vocal riffs. Don’t miss it below.

With the accumulation of heavy-hitting singles such as ‘Lone Wolf‘ and ‘Born To Survive‘, a ton of hype was created around the imminent release of Zomboy‘s Rott N’ Roll Pt. 2 EP. With the first installment having been released back in mid-2017 and the remixes shortly after, fans were left itching in excitement for new material after the dubstep heavyweight was silent for the first half of 2018. Slowly yet surely, Zomboy put his fans at ease with new bangers, until the announcement of Rott N’ Roll Pt. 2 set the dubstep world into a frenzy. After sitting on the project for a couple of days, it’s safe to say that this might be Zomboy’s best work to date.

‘The Beast’ kicks things into motion, where Zomboy draws a parallel to the introduction of Rott N’ Roll Pt. 1 with the eerie melody reminiscent of ‘Biterz’. A gradual increase in energy and euphoria lead the track into an aggressive display of crisp sound engineering and raw, unadulterated madness. The two aforementioned singles follow, before ‘Revival’ alongside MUST DIE! takes center stage. In their first collaboration since 2014’s classic ‘Survivors’, the two dubstep dons showcase their insane evolution as producers in ‘Revival’, flexing unparalleled sound design and an almost supernatural chemistry. Both artists’ signatures are heard throughout the track, combining their respective strengths to deliver a brute of a heater. To cap off the project, Zomboy shows us a new side of his abilities in ‘End Game’, a vocal-driven, electro-infused bop.

Collectively, the bass music scene has experienced a tremendous amount of growth and development over the course of the 2018 calendar year. With the dubstep sub-genre riddim sharing a portion of the spotlight, the desire for monstrous bass, precise cuts and an engulfing environment of resonating frequencies seems to be soaring higher than ever before; similar to the original explosion of excitement when infamous producers such as Rusko, Caspa, Skrillex, Flux Pavillion, and Excision first stoked the flames of dubstep in the mid-2000s.

Much like a growing seed, a genre demands fertile, nurturing soil and a deep running system of support roots in order to blossom into maturity and survive the competitive landscape of the music scene. Founded in early 2009, Never Say Die Records and founder SKisM have furnished the necessary foundation that has allowed the bass genre to grow to where it is today, not to mention expanding into new & exciting sub-genres.

Toting an arsenal of veteran names such as Zomboy, MUST DIE!, Eptic & Trampa, the label has more than solidified their dominance over the bass realm; releasing consecutive Never Say Die compilations every year since 2012, each further revealing the seasoned cast of artists that have contributed their influence to the dubstep we know and love today.

Despite an extensive back catalog, SKisM maintains a rigid focus on the present moment and watchful gaze on future endeavors; demanding that past artists and newly acquired talents ceaselessly test the boundaries of their creative ability, which has resulted in a versatile evolution of sound for the label since its origination in 2009.

Now, with the sixth installment of the coveted Never Say Die Records compilation, we are enamored to see debut contributions from Mastadon, ECRAZE, and TYNAN as well as heavy-hitting sounds from seasoned veterans and Soltan’s first release of the year. And, as with all predecessors, there is not a single weak link in sight, providing sound confirmation that NSD will only continue to rule in 2019.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/544917285″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Every established artist has a signature sound that makes them easily distinguishable among others, but perhaps the most unique of them all is Eptic. Within five seconds of any of his tracks, a true fan is able to identify him in any mix. His contribution to Vol. 6 is no exception, jumping on the riddim bandwagon with his distinctive flair to unleash the monster that is ‘Ready 2 Die’. In typical Belgian overlord fashion, Eptic combines snappy vocal samples with his robotic synths and gut-wrenching bass to create one of the most forward-thinking riddim tracks of the year. Captivating your attention with an intricate introduction and keeping it with his forward-thinking approach is what Eptic does best, and ‘Ready 2 Die’ will have you hooked for its entirety.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/544927695″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

While 2017 saw IVORY make a name for himself in the bass scene, this year saw him establish himself as one of the greats. His Next Level EP lives up to its name, offering next level sound design and supernatural bass. It’s no surprise that his contribution to Vol. 6, ‘Unbreakable’, stands out among the best, as he continues to elevate his wicked engineering with every release. In his latest, IVORY introduces middle-eastern chants with a desert-like soundscape to create a dance-ready torrent. Don’t be fooled by the splendor, though, as the gap between beauty and bass is quickly met with a loud, cawing lead matched with heavy-hitting percussion to create a headbang-ready heater.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/544943160″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Who knows exactly what prompted Space Laces to become the Santa Claus of bass this year, but whoever/whatever triggered it deserves all the thanks in the world. Gifting his die-hard fans with more releases this year than the last 5 years combined, Space Laces has been on an absolute tear with his latest work. When his collaboration with Topi wasn’t included in the Vaultage 001 mix, speculation began as to whether it would ever see the light of day, before being included in the Vol. 6 mix and giving bass enthusiasts a new hope. To the pleasure of all, ‘Whiplash’ has made its way into the newest compilation, offering more insight into the mind of two musical geniuses. A picturesque introduction depicts a group of friends cruising down a highway (no pun intended) before a hasty rise in tension predicts an unfortunate event. An abrupt crash of monstrous sounds injures all, with meticulous sound design and a fury of bass causing additional damage. Elevating the glitchy take on dubstep throughout, the track continues to jerk the passengers, offering no escape from the ‘Whiplash’.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/544425036″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Thoroughly listening to a track from international bass aficionado SPAG HEDDY is nostalgic to strolling the streets of Little Italy. Whimsical accordion medleys blend an unmistakable influence of the Sicilian variety into the savory, high-energy buildup of the track which contrasts roaring synth jabs and a commanding vocal sample. As the frenzy grows in intensity, a squealing mixdown launches the track into rampant waves of unyielding bass. Despite an overwhelming extravagance of resonating frequencies, ‘Troupe’ flows coherently as a tribute to SPAG’s coveted tight percussion and expertise in sound design.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/543928110″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Utilizing heartfelt synth melodies and mesmerizing bass sequences, KRIMER constructs an immeasurable amount of emotional depth and suspense in the buildup of ‘Facebreaker’. As the riser reaches its climax, an assault of rigorous drums steers the track in a new direction, unleashing a meaty vocal sample which catapults the track into a volcano of erupting bass. Just as the billowing smoke begins to clear, a sample from Dr. Dre’s ‘Nuthin But a G Thang’ comes straight out of left field, heaving you right back into the licking flames of the inferno.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/544956306″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

A warm welcome and congratulations to TYNAN for making his debut on this year’s Never Say Die compilation — it’s been a real treat watching his style grow and develop in the previous 4 years and he truly deserves all the respect in the world for his hard work and talent!

The tune begins like the rebooting of a spaceship, captained by an otherworldly beast, which mutters a fierce growl as a repetitive snare drum kicks the vessel into orbit. As the ship begins to reach peak altitude a fatal software malfunction causes the navigation system to sputter uncontrollably, rerouting course directly into an oncoming fleet of bass-clad asteroids. Although the pilot appears to be coherent, he cackles menacingly as a meteor narrowly scathes the right wing, almost as if he had planned this treachery all along. Despite a more foundational trap style, ‘Usurper’ is sheathed in bass and lacks not an ounce in production.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/543501783″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Christopher Columbus of dubstep, Zomboy is an undisputed pioneer of sound design within the bass realm, with a foundation in production, laid nearly 10 years ago, his riveting style of thundering percussion breakdowns and relentless synth arrangements furnish a template for dubstep tracks still to this date. However, it is an insatiable hunger for progress which sets Zomboy apart from the masses, unveiling with each release an unbridled desire to expand his timeless infrastructure even further.

Flaunting his production expertise right out of the gate, ‘Hide N’ Seek’ opens with a complex digital introduction, coaxing you within earshot of the sensational trademark melody of wailing, harmonious synths. An exceptionally placed break leads seamlessly into an onslaught of drums, unleashing a captivating wave of rapid synths, which build teeming anticipation in the track. A vocal sample delivers the fatal blow, exposing a breach in the walls through which an assault of bass lays siege, demanding immediate surrender with no promise of survival.

Year after year, the growing anticipation is almost too much to bear — beckoning the question, how can the sheer volume and audacity of the previous year possibly be topped? However, expectation and reality flow in perfect synchronicity with Never Say Die; and Volume 6 carries with it an insurmountable quantity of bass, delicately crafted sound design & meticulous production worthy of all praise.

Back in August, Zomboy fans were put at ease with the release of ‘Rebel Bass‘, his first original of the calendar year. The combination of the monstrous track with his new Rott N’ Roll Radio promised more to come from the dubstep legend, and the hype has only continued to grow, with Zomboy announcing a massive North American tour alongside bass heavyweights Space Laces, Badklaat and Luzcid. To top it all off, the British mogul treated fans to another heater titled ‘Lone Wolf’ last week.

Likely the second track from the imminent Rott N’ Roll Pt. 2 EP, ‘Lone Wolf’ is another flex of Zomboy’s musical prowess. He brings back an old school vibe with a bouncy introduction that is almost reminiscent of big room before unleashing a beast. Mean bass and gritty synths roar throughout the drops, with every sound minutely engineered to perfection in true Zomboy fashion. To top is off, ‘Lone Wolf’ is peppered with catchy ad-libs to make it another Zomboy classic.

Despite a relatively slow year release-wise, Zomboy has set himself up to have a massive 2019. Check out ‘Lone Wolf’ below and grab your tickets for the Rott N’ Roll tour here.

There’s no denying Zomboy‘s reign over the dubstep empire. With releases that date back to 2011, Joshua Mellody has steadily improved his game as a sound design mogul to become one of Never Say Die’s most consistent and reliable artists. The British producer also has quite the knack for making the catchiest pre-drop vocals, with the ‘Terror Squad’ and ‘Like A Bitch’ samples still being heard in festival sets across the world years after their release.

The British producer’s Rott N’ Roll Pt. 1 EP had fans buzzing for many reasons, as it was regarded as some of Zomboy’s highest quality productions to date, in addition to the name which suggested more to come in the future. Since the July 2017 EP, Mellody has only released one other track (albeit a skull-cracking collaboration with Eptic), and that had fans wondering when the highly-anticipated follow up would arrive. Last week, the announcement of Rott N’ Roll Radio put fans at ease, as Mellody promised in his first episode that Part 2 was well on its way.

Today, we got a first taste of what’s to come from the British producer in the form of a quintessential Zomboy heater titled ‘Rebel Bass’. The single displays exactly why Mellody is one of the most respected producers out there, as he combines his usual perfectly engineered drums with mesmerizing synths to create four and a half minutes of heaven for any dubstep lover. ‘Rebel Bass’ is riddled with gut-wrenching basses that are bound to unleash your nastiest bass face, and it makes us even more excited to hear what else Zomboy has up his sleeve. Check out ‘Rebel Bass’ below!

Taking place at Bingeman’s campgrounds in Kitchener, ON from June 2nd – 4th, Ever After Music Festival promises to be one of the can’t miss events of the year. The 3-day event will bring together incredible acts, camping, a waterpark, midway rides, games and more. It sounds like a ton a fun but what has us most excited is the incredible line-up featuring bass legends, rappers, trap kingpins, house OGs and a ton of up-and-coming and talent. With so many dope artists on the bill we figured it’s only right that we give you our can’t miss picks. We purposely left off the headliners Bassnectar, Zeds Dead, Excision and French Montana. They’re headlining for a reason, and we don’t have to tell you why you should be at their sets. Check the full list below and let us know who you’re most excited for.

TroyBoi

UK producer TroyBoi has been a favourite at FUXWITHIT for years. Since his early days he’s killing the game with his unique sound known as “My Style” which combines elements of trap, world music, hip hop, R&B, garage and a multitude of other influences. He’s fresh off The Mantra Tour which featured him playing exclusively his own music. His energy on stage and astounding catalog make TroyBoi’s live sets quite unlike any other. One minute you’re entranced by the spiritual beauty of a song, the next you’re in a moshpit turning up to the max. That’s a range of experience that few can pack into DJ set, so don’t miss out.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/267101676″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Herobust

In the past two years Herobust has gone from being another great SoundCloud producer, to one of the most innovative creators in bass music. His style blends hard hitting trap with insane dubstep-inspired sound design. His last two EPs have pushed the boundaries of bass music and his live set is assured to do the same. If you’re looking to have your mind-blown with epic sound design and then get beaten with bass this is where you need to be.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/304475046″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/205295734″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Destructo

HARD founder and all around OG, Destructo, is a can’t miss at any event. With over 20 years in the game his skills behind the decks are no joke. Add to the fact that he’s fresh off the release of his massive G-House EP Renegade, and it’s guaranteed to be amazing. His blend of house and rap does a stellar job bridging the gap for fans of either genre – and you never know what he might rinse out.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/277967757″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/304519202″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

Black Tiger Sex Machine (BTSM)

If the name doesn’t at least rouse your interest I’m not sure what will. Their motto is “Music Is Our Religion” and they take it to heart. Each performance is a spiritual experience that seems sacred. With light up helmets and insane visuals the trio’s visual experience is befitting of their sound. Their sets are built around their massive electro originals and reworks but they almost always take time to inject some classics; whether it’s cuts from Dr. Oizo or The Prodigy. If you’re looking to rave it out then BTSM is your jam.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/307819896″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/317357736″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

12th Planet B2B Funtcase B2B Cookie Monsta

Yes, we’re aware this makes the final artist count 10 rather than 8 – but when you have LA’s dubstep/dnb guru 12th Planet coming together with 2 Circus Records artists, Funtcase and Cookie Monsta, you can’t help but make an exception. What do you get when two unstoppable forces collide with an immovable object from both sides? We’re not sure, but this set may help you find such an answer.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/316030299″ params=”color=ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

NGHTMRE

Whether it’s insane originals (‘Street, ‘Click Clack’) or banging remixes (‘Lean Back,’ ‘Goosebumps’) NGHTMRE has proven himself to be one of the hottest producers in the game. He’s well known for teasing out insane ID’s in his sets and Ever After should be no different. So if you’re wondering what NGHTMRE may have in store for the remainder of the year, this is a can’t miss.

Zomboy

English DJ/producer Joshua Mellody, better known as Zomboy, is a frequently-mentioned name amongst the bass community. His recent anthem, ‘Like A Bitch’, gets mosh pits started wherever it’s unleashed, and everybody who knows the song knows exactly when to holler and throw down. His tracks may be massive bangers, but they tend to hold some subtle melodious undertones to it, sticking true to Joshua’s surname.

Nebbra

The French producer has been steadily pushing the boundaries of future bass. While the bulk of the festival promises earth-shattering bass, Nebbra offers bit of a change. His music is more melodic and heartfelt with just the right bit of knock. Expect Nebbra to take you on an emotional journey while also ensuring that you’re dancing and having a great time.
