Woolymammoth and Tsuruda are both highly regarded for their immensely inventive and often dark sounds. So when the two come together for a song it’s only fitting that those attributes are magnified exponentially. Working on a remix for Crooked Colours, they drag the already downtempo ‘Step’ into a deep abyss. A minimal backdrop allows the haunting vocals to take an even deeper feeling of eeriness on the builds and breaks. As the vocals repeat “step into the darkness with me,” listeners are transported to a world devoid of light but rich in terror.
