Exciting, innovative and intensely creative are three ways we can try and sum up sumthin sumthin. This incredible talent was picked up early by UZ and the team at Quality Goods Records, and has gone on to thrill and delight fans ever since.
An EP, some killer features and his incredible recent single ‘Confused’ have pushed the producer and DJ firmly into the spotlight, and he continues to work on new material. In terms of his DJ sets, we wanted to get in the psyche of sumthin sumthin, so we asked him to reveal his five favorite songs right now. Check out sumthin sumthin’s Floor FIllers below!
LEISURE – ‘Money’
This is one of my all time favourite bands, everything is so simple yet tasteful, which is a huge part of what I try to do in production. This track is beautiful to me.
Laxcity – ‘Good Morning’
This is one of the best tracks I’ve heard in a while, very bouncy and happy – yet has some sort of melancholy vibe to it. Amazing work from this producer!
Kllo – ‘Virtue’
This song is absolutely perfect for driving around. I love how unique & driving the drums are, as well as the beautifully angelic vocals Kllo has to offer on almost every track. A great combo if you’re trying to just relax and vibe out!
Little Snake – ‘HXD’
This song has some of the craziest sound design I’ve heard in a while. It’s super inspiring to hear some groundbreaking synths that can actually make your body move, without being turned off by how complex the sound/beat is.
CharlesTheFirst – ‘The Forest With No Name’
If you’ve ever been to a transformative festival – such as Lightning in a Bottle, Burning Man, Symbiosis, Shambhala etc.. you’ll definitely hear something familiar when you listen to CTF. He is able to capture this unique nostalgia that I’ve been trying to create since I’ve been to one of those festivals. Charles is seamlessly able to mix heavy bass with beautiful top melodies. Definitely one of my favourite producers right now!)
