With J. Cole’s KOD Tour kicking off in Miami on Thursday, he’s opted to set the internet on fire ahead of the first show with a new freestyle. ‘Album Of The Year’ sees Cole going in for 2 minutes over Nas’ ‘Oochie Wally’ beat. Despite its short length its rich with bars giving us flashes of mixtape Cole while mixing in the more mature version we’ve become more familiar with as of late. Cole flexes this, bouncing from braggadocios bars to socially conscious raps in line with KOD. The quotables are littered throughout but here’s a taste, “come see me live/KOD, album of the year, undebatably/My cadence be the greatest we’ve seen since the late MC who’s name was The Notorious/Dreamville stacked like the Warriors/Winning back to back.” Stream ‘Album Of The Year’ Freestyle below and check the video.
