Journey To The ‘UNDRGRND’ With Rickyxsan and Hydraulix

by Steph Contant

Almost a year ago, Rickyxsan and Hydraulix delivered perhaps one of the most popular bass festival tracks of the last twelve months in the form of ‘Sleep’. Since then, the two have continued to make a name for themselves, with the former releasing singles on the hottest labels such as Never Say Die and Deadbeats as well as remixes for Boombox Cartel, Galantis and Krane, and the latter releasing EPs on TWONK and Quality Goods Records. There’s no doubt that the LA-based Rickyxsan and the Sydney-based Hydraulix have a versatility that is unmatched, which is easily seen through their ability to stick to a signature sound while exploring all of the realms of electronic music.

Last Friday, the two talented producers proved to fans once again that distance is no barrier to great music with a new collaboration titled ‘UNDRGRND’ and released on Never Say Die. The track meshes Rickyxsan’s unique bass and Hydraulix’s filthy sounds to create a beautifully weird sonic experience. The distinct influence of both producers are heard throughout the track, yet they were able to coalesce their expertise into one energetically coherent trap heater. ‘UNDRGRND’ will undoubtedly raise your heartbeat by a few BPM and might even leave you sweating in your seat.
