The success of their collaborations is always a safe bet and the results are killer combonations that never miss to ensure a KO at first listen. ‘Nightshade’ kicks off with a cinematic intro. It’s a sinister and menacing welcome but also classy like a Bengali tiger. Without knowing, Cozway is likely to imagine a Jungle Terror or a Tribal Trap outcome after this initial segment but boys and girls, it’s not that easy-peasy.
The Canadian producer has already established his very own style and when the drop hits we end up facing an undefined hybrid creature. ‘Nightshade’ is indeed a chimera, with an experimental trap core but heavily enriched by a spot on selection of evocative sounds that lie outside the current basic genre’s standards.
