LAXX Enlists The Best For Enthralling Album Remixes

by Steph Contant

Coming off a relatively quiet 2017, LAXX lunged into this year head-first delivering an extremely well-rounded album titled Fake Friends that showcased the English producer’s talents as a musician. The project saw the Never Say Die veteran delivering his distinct twitch signature on tracks such as ‘Feels So Good’ and ‘New Me’, while also exploring new genres and proving his versatility in songs such as ‘Fake Friends’ and ‘Fiends’. After another wicked single titled ‘Automated Response’ released a month after Fake Friends, LAXX hit the road with fellow Never Say Die heavy-hitters MUST DIE! and Dr. Ozi, which certainly influenced the masterpiece that has blessed us today.

That’s right. LAXX has enlisted a combination of well-established and up-and-coming producers to remix the Fake Friends LP. With a surprise announcement earlier last week and MUST DIE!’s ‘High From It’ remix appearing on SoundCloud five days ago, fans have been dying to get their hands on the rest of the remixes. In true Never Say Die fashion, the album features nothing but the gnarliest tracks as it is transformed from a versatile project into a gut-wrenching forty minutes of bass. With the typical label artists such as MUST DIE!, Dr. Ozi, Spag Heddy, Gentlemens Club and Krimer making an appearance, Fake Friends (Remixed) also features a combination of new and old Black Label artists who bring the nastiness to another level. SHARPS, Calcium, JOOL, Tiigers, Oddprophet and Oolacile all make a statement with their remixes, proving to listeners that they are forces to be reckoned with in the bass scene. The remixes are capped off with a LAXX VIP of ‘Let Em Know’, where the original album creator makes frantic seem organized in one of his wildest tracks to date.
