If you’ve been paying attention this year, chances are Krischvn has landed on your radar in recent time. Whether it’s his Yvng Jalapeño assisted ‘Rainer’ edit, his remix of Boombox Cartel or his massive collab ‘Phantom’ with Dirty Audio, his music has become too good to ignore. Hailing from Germany, Krischvn is a trailblazer in the budding bass scene there. “Here in Germany techno is the biggest electronic genre and I’ll be a part of the new generation and bringing some fresh beats to Germany. In my opinion it’s the most creative music genre that exists, and I’m very excited from it. I have to drive over 200 km to visit a bass/trap club. I’m a big fan of ‘Blacklist’ and ‘New Blood’, I think those are the best movements that are going on here at the moment,” Krischvn explains.
Always keeping an eye on who’s next, it should come as no surprise to see Quality Good Records putting out his new EP. The full project Plumbum drops today and we have the pleasure of premiering the massive single ‘Wyng’. “The word ‘Wyng’ just popped in my head while making the song. Wyng is weird, it’s fun, it’s just crazy. You got to hear the song to understand what I mean. I just wanna go into the listeners brain and play around with it, it should be interesting and distract from problems and want to get you to bounce to the beat.” Krischvn tells us about the song title and overall direction.
The track showcases his signature sound blending pristine vocal chops with mind-bending sound design and a plethora of bass. The first drop is pure industrial demolition. It’s gritty and explosive with a metallic heart. As the track breaks down it slips into a rap-inspired bounce to smooth things out, if only for a short time. When Krischvn brings the intensity back it’s even more maddening than before. The finale is darker and dirtier and the bass is somehow even deeper. ‘Wyng’ is a wild ride and just another example of why Krischvn needs to be on your watch list.
