Fatesky Dances With The Devil On Groovy ‘Lucifer’ EP

by Steph Contant

Lyon-based Fatesky are further proof that the French are taking over the house game one track at a time. The relatively new duo stormed onto the scene with a bang with releases on the bass house-driven label GOLD DiGGER Records and the innovative house collective noir sur blanc. A few more remixes and singles later, Fatesky were enlisted by the prestigious Confession Label to officially remix Tchami and Malaa’s ‘The Sermon,’ which ultimately lead them to sign with the powerhouse label.

Today, the duo make their highly-anticipated original debut on Confession with the wicked two-track Lucifer EP. The title track starts off with a groovy house melody that could have easily been turned into a bouncy, upbeat original, but Fatesky took a complete one-eighty on the drop unleashing gnarly bass lines and rugged synths. The demonic soundscape created by the duo in ‘Lucifer’ makes the track truly live up to its name. The second song titled ‘Move & Groove’ sees the duo team up with Dutch producer Kage to deliver a funky house banger highlighted by a classic G-house vocal loop, crisp percussion and intricate synths. Also living up to its name, ‘Move & Groove’ rounds out a beautifully engineered EP, solidifying Fatesky’s imminent rise in the scene.
