Dubloadz Returns To His Roots In Monstrous ‘Ghost Gang’ EP

by Steph Contant

After parting ways with Disciple Records a few months ago, many were left speculating about the future of Dubloadz‘s releases. He quickly silenced this speculation shortly after with a couple of deep dub tracks titled ‘Salt’ and ‘Pepper’, and later with heavy remixes for Dion Timmer and Gammer, reassuring fans that this departure was only the beginning of a new chapter for the established producer.

Monday saw Dubloadz return to releasing original material on a familiar label; the notorious Never Say Die: Black Label. The announcement of the Ghost Gang EP had dubstep fans buzzing, as the community knew it was time for Dubloadz to unleash some of his highly-anticipated IDs to the masses, and boy did he not disappoint. The album’s title and only solo track presents no shortage of the original Dubloadz that fans have grown to love over the years, with his unique and quirky samples flawlessly meshed with the raw grit that one can expect from the talented producer. He then teamed up with Midnight Tyrannosaurus, a Black Label favourite, on ‘Don’t Deal With The Devil’ to rattle your speakers to the max in a guttural riddim-inspired heater that highlights the strengths of both artists to a tee. An extremely dynamic and intricate collaboration with Yakz titled ‘Ghost Vomit’ follows, which sees the sound design capabilities of both artists impeccably complimenting each other. Finally, the EP is capped off with the monumental ‘Wonk Wars’, a collaboration with Monxx and Rico Act that has been teased since ‘The Savage Wonk Undead Mix’ from last October. All in all, the Ghost Gang EP is easily the heaviest project you’ll listen to today, but in the best way possible as Dubloadz and friends have delivered quality bass.
