Ending the year with this same energy comes ‘scars’. The track showcases thook’s knack for developing transportational soundscapes, this time taking us to The Far East.
An ancient energy opens the scene before a once forgotten monster emerges. Each footstep shakes the earth, announcing its much feared return. As the beast moves closer with each step, an army of warriors sharpen their weapons, readying themselves for a battle they knew would eventually come. When the two sides finally meet there’s an eerie calm with an underlying ravenous energy that builds into the climax. The clash is something of legend, as bodies are tossed and scattered, and scales are ripped with spikes and swords. The fight concludes with the beast slain and just a handful of the warriors left alive. Riddled with scars each wound tells a piece of a story that will be passed on for generations.
