It has been a hot minute since we’ve heard from Oski. The Sydney-based producer was relatively absent when it came to touring and new music last year, but this time was not put to waste as he spent it on refocusing his personal vision of the Oski project. Following his 2016 KID CHROME and 2017 KID CALAMITY EPs on Quality Goods Records, the versatile producer released the exceptional ‘Killa‘ early last year, and is now back on the imprint in the form of a wicked single titled ‘In Check’.
“I took some time off touring to really reassess my music and what I wanted from it. This is the product of my decision to start writing more heavy-hitting records using more aggressive sounds. 2019 is looking great and I’m looking forward to curating a more refined and balanced Oski sound,” Oski states about his return to the esteemed label.
There is a fizzing, tangibly electric energy to ‘In Check.’ Channeling old school rave-style drums and pounding melodies, Oski’s futuristic trap signature isn’t lost in the mix of glitchy insanity. Instead, his unique sound drives the track forward with fierce rhythmicality. As the bassline shudders and builds in intensity to its final climax, suddenly it’s all over – leaving you desperately ‘In Check’ once again. Through gritty synths and mechanical plucks, Oski combines his distinct style with refined production intricacies to deliver a statement single.
