Through lands of sand dunes in a far eastern culture, arises the overwhelming force of the Juggernaut EP. A collaboration from the underground by the team of L*o*J and Mo Vibez. With L*O*J being a Switzerland duo, and Mo Vibez representing Austria, it was only a matter of time before the inventive minds were to collide. In this EP they are able to construe something truly unique. It gives listeners a fresh and new perspective on typical trap sounds. There are multiple oriental influences in the sounds chosen like flutes and horns, that are paired with traditional trap undertones and hard hitting bass that will flex any system’s subwoofers.
When combining extraordinary forward-thinking minds, the hybrid artistic product is typically something unseen or unheard of. Much like taking two underground artists and shoving them in a studio together, it is known a new blend of styles will come from this. A slow paced, action packed story line evokes a relaxed adrenaline rush among listeners. It is comparable to drinking caffeine in hopes of energy, only to receive body jitters but without the typical energy crash. You’ll find yourself filling your cup again and again, craving more and more.
The paradox in sound design is a statement of these artists’ skill. The pulsating 808’s are contradicted by various textures and percussion extracts in a way that proposes symmetry. The intro depicts a long expedition through a scorching sand dune that leads a group of assassins to a place of meditation. Arriving in ‘Medina‘, a city in Saudi Arabia, the next track continues this voyage into the land of peace and tranquility. In this city’s center is the building of a prophet, with a striking green dome, that rises above the tombs ahead. By the end of this track, ears are fixed on the entourage of textural diversity. Moving forward into the title track ‘Juggernaut‘, the sun is settling on the backs of the assassins as they depart the city back into the open wilderness of countless mirages and dunes. A trek that seems to be never ending finally sheds hope on finding items of value, only to stumble upon what was once thought to be only a myth, the human juggernaut awakens. A back and forth free for all between sound and a quest to have this juggernaut join the assassins carries out the rest of the EP’s energy.
