Purveyors of all things experimental, sfam have been blowing up the scene with their stylistic melding of hard-hitting bass and minimalist trap. The New Orleans duo have earned major attention from big names such as Bassnectar, UZ, Kai Wachi, and Dirt Monkey, and have had releases on Morflo, DramaClubRecs, Quality Goods Records, and Wakaan. Now they continue their already impressive 2019 campaign with ‘Finna Get,’ a track that’s as massive as it is diverse.
When asked what they were going for with the track, they stated “We wanted to incorporate multiple styles of bass music into one song. Each drop is different and has it’s own flavor.” Boy did they deliver.
‘finna get’ is a true testament to the artistic and creative talent of the group, as it has three face-melting drops that all have a unique, individual feel. The first of which is a great appetizer, as it’s an exhilarating fest of short, fast-paced wubs that will surely get your limbs flailing in all sorts of exotic fashions. The second drop has much grimier, extended notes that sound like you’re in a shower of low-end with the dial turned all the way to “hot.” The last drop feels like being asked to participate in an old wild-west duel, as it viciously backhands you relentlessly across the face.
So what exactly are we “finna get?” The only answer to that is most assuredly “lit” to this song, almost exceedingly so.
