Conrad Jeremy Woodul, better known as sumthin sumthin, has had a connection to music since the early age of 8 years old. He started out playing piano, and would go on to accidentally stumble across an electronic music stage. Since then, he has been on a path to restructuring the EDM scene with fresh sounds, forward thinking ideas, and boundary breaking tunes. Coming off of his latest releases from Jadu Dala, The Untz, and a FUXWITHIT premiere, sumthin sumthin is back with something a little different.
‘Vivid‘ has the perfect summer vibes and is a great way to kick off pool season. Continuing with his minimal layered sound design, each individual noise is given its own meaning and power while coming together as a cohesive piece that tells a beautiful story. His mellow intro will have listeners guessing what kind of drop is coming. While you may be expecting and hoping trap, this is not the track to find that. However, ‘Vivid’ grows on you and will give you a brand new sense of appreciation for the musical depth sumthin sumthin is capable of providing. Diving into new realms, Woodul presents a house vibe and gives a new funky breath of fresh air added to his catalog. It’s not the typical experimental style trap tune that he typically delivers, but it’s still an incredibly well-executed track. Should we expect more of this sound? Keep an eye out for more music coming from sumthin sumthin this summer. In the meantime, listen below and kick back by the pool to thoroughly enjoy.
