A tenacious proponent of diversity, Australia’s Hydraulix has thoroughly mastered the ability to intersperse fluently between genres, tastefully accoutering his style to fit seamlessly within the ranks of Quality Goods Records, TWONK, and Never Say Die in his decade-long pursuit of dominance over the realms of bass music.
Out now via Wakaan Records, Hydraulix’s Space Cadet EP dilates his regime even further, providing a destitute landscape within which the Sydney-native is able to conceive complex soundscapes completely unburdened of restriction. Harboring this newfound amnesty, Hydraulix sets to work composing off-kilter drum patterns that clash in sonic synchronicity with exhilarating eruptions of subs in ‘Skanka’, incisive snare-lines and vacillating wobbles in ‘Chopper’ with Krischvn, and a lethal salutary dosage of bass to round out the project with ‘Madman’ and his collaboration with Leotrix.
Buckle your seatbelts, kids!
