In the wake of his debut Thxrsty EP released on the first of the year, India-based Maahirbr has only continued to capitalize on his early success as a producer, tactfully revealing new content as he continues to dig deeper within the chasms of distorted bass.
For a shocking fifteen years old, Maahirbr possesses a rhythmic demeanor and knack for sound design that speaks leagues beyond his age, enabling him the ability to work just as cohesively in solo efforts as he does alongside other skillful producers, as demonstrated in the two-part endeavor ‘Slash.’, which features Sydney-based Perp for the second installment.
An extension of his dynamic collaborative tendencies, ‘Reap in Peace’ with Mumbai-native Veer depicts a sonic collision of distorted styles that grows quickly in stature from the contorted daze of the vocal lead as gently impinging snares break into an initial pulsating blanket of subs that slips cunningly in and out of periphery amid textured bass fills and percipient drums. The haunting vocal reprise offers a momentary solace before a cascade of shrill, echoing sirens engulf you entirely.
