Through consistently entertaining radio shows and a constantly impressive string of releases, The Smile High Club are becoming one of the hottest underground platforms for great music. Their ELEMENTS compilations are also quickly evolving into the best place to find promising up-and-coming producers from across the globe, as seen in their seventh instalment earlier this year. Continuing to build on this theme, The Smile High Club are back in full force to grace your ears with the perfect soundtrack to keep summer alive, ELEMENTS VOL. 8: ZEHUTI.
When asked about what Zehuti means to them, The Smile High Club had this to say.
“In the modern day and age, we are presented with shallow substance meant for mass consumption, so our goal with this elements series is to provide content that goes deeper than the norm. The name of the compilation is derived from the 6th step of spiritual alchemy, distillation. This step focuses on embracing the challenges and growing from them to reach personal enlightenment. The last compilations we have released have dealt with the previous steps. To be more specific, Zehuti is another name for Thoth which is the corresponding deity for the 6th step. We’re not trying to be religious or force any sort of beliefs onto people and that listeners end up focusing on the ideas that are represented by the imagery presented. Our hope with the ELEMENTS series is for people to look further into these ideas to see how they can relate and be used for one’s personal development.”
Each artist on ELEMENTS VOL. 8 was chosen based on their sound and development over the time The Smile High Club has been following them. From artists with only a couple of hundred followers to some with a few thousand, this latest compilation is further proof to look beyond the numbers. Accomplishing their goal of going deeper than the norm, each artist provides a piece that holds well on its own while simultaneously fitting extremely well within the compilation. Ethereal vibes are present throughout, as cutesy, smile-inducing melodies drive the future beat essence of the tracks. Curated to a tee, ELEMENTS VOL. 8 is a fun, fresh compilation that perfectly balances energy with relaxed undertones. Dive in below.
