What do you get when a FUXWITHIT favorite and a new artist on our radar collab? You get the instant trap banger ‘Vans’ that’s what. Runnit, the innovative young trap lord based in Baltimore recently dropped off a guest mix for the FUXWITHIT family, and this time he’s back with his collaboration with fellow Partica Artists U.O.ME. The young trap duo is based on the east coast and has seen releases on some of our favorite labels like Partica Artist Group and Below The Surface. The three team up to give us ‘Vans’ which is an outstanding representation of the kind of ingenious songs going from Partica.
‘Vans’ begins with a classic Jay-Z vocal sample accompanied by sinister strings which immediately set the tone of this aggressive trap banger. Throughout the buildup, the heavily distorted lead synth is introduced until it is accompanied by booming 808’s and creativity designed percussion elements. After this section, we are met with a quick buildup before being thrown back into a menacing drop where the arrangement is altered slightly. The track’s breakdown sees the reappearance of the strings, which is followed by a completely new drop filled with spacey lead synths that seem extraterrestrial in origin.
We got the chance to catch up with runnit and the boys from U.O.ME., and with the new year on the horizon, we asked them what to expect in the next 365 days. U.O.ME. is a group that’s looking to make a real push in the trap scene next year, “What to expect from U.O.ME. is honestly just a Pandora’s box of tracks to just go buck wild to for no reason. Not to mention lots of collabs in the bin. We’re just tryna make kids move,” U.O.ME. tells us.
As for runnit, the Partica Boss tells us to expect “a whole lot more wonky weird bass design, and possibly some more experimenting with other tempos in the 85-118 range.” Be sure to check ‘Vans’ out below and stay up to date with these two artists right here at FUXWITHIT!
