First coming together on the former’s Genesis EP dating back to last year, Sykotix and Keeth have been hard at work on their second collaboration. Both known for their vibrant versatility within the realm of trap music and beat-making, it comes as no surprise to see the two talented producers come together once again, this time delivering a heavy-hitting trap anthem titled ‘EMPIRE’ that is as royal as it is majestic.
“I sent him a track that was for battle of the beat-makers up in Toronto. It was super rough and only a minute long but he was down. At that point, it was only centred around the vintage sample you can here in the introduction,” Keeth tells us about how ‘EMPIRE’ came to be. “Keeth sent me the original idea and we went back and forth with a couple renders. We shelved it for a couple months and came back to it with fresh takes. Our tracks always end up being so intense that each drop ends up being a whole separate project in itself and we have to stitch it together,” Sykotix adds.
Boasting a theme of attitude, power and presence, ‘EMPIRE’ is an auditory journey featuring three distinct sections that come together to form one cohesive piece. The first section is a punchy trap drop highlighted by a regal flute layered above crisp percussion. The second uses vocal samples to captivate your attention, with additional elements and effects included to swing the track into 808 mayhem. Finally, Sykotix and Keeth close out ‘EMPIRE’ with an anthemic roar, demonstrating their ability to keep listeners interested until the very last moments. ‘EMPIRE’ is bound to be a FUXWITHIT fan favourite.
