Toronto-based IKYGUY has tapped this underlying gritty undertone and exploited it to new limits, creating an emotional yet bass-driven rework.

The only elements left intact from the original are EZI’s poignant vocals, driving the introduction gradually to a climax of energy. As the minute-mark hits, all musical familiarity with Graves’ piece is lost, as IKYGUY unleashes rugged bass in a melodic dubstep-leaning drop. Keeping listeners on their toes during the second half of the remix, IKYGUY displays his ability to keep you hooked from start to finish with his take on ‘Less Permanent.’ Don’t miss it below.

2016 was an absolutely titanic year in the microcosm of music culture that is trap, with timeless smash hits being forged left and right. One such banger plucked straight from the cream of the crop is ‘Tiger Blood’ a masterful collaboration between Graves and Myrne, which to this day has amassed over two and a half million streams on SoundCloud alone.

Easily my favorite track from either artist, ‘Tiger Blood’ rides that tightrope of future bass and trap, incorporating the best elements of both to form a song that is incredibly fun to dance to but is also a symphony for your ears. The intricate vocal loops build as the tension rises before the drop reesl you in like a fish on a hook, before ripping you away much like a surfer pulled into a monster wave. Instead of clenching and fighting the pull, you pleasantly drift off as you let the sounds and tide wash over you, bliss incarnate. This is a track that you can easily get the funk down to on the dance floor, or close your eyes and drift away for a little bit.

Check out this tsunami of positivity and good vibes for yourself below!

If there’s any producer that comes to mind when you think of consistently pushing boundaries, it’s graves. After dropping his latest EP Far From Here a few months back, the Hawaii-based legend follows up with two new tracks to break the hiatus.

graves holds nothing back with the first track ‘Deadsong’ featuring 93FEETOFSMOKE, a song that merges his emo style with arguably one of the most aggressive drops ever by the producer. Accented by a strong vocal, ‘Deadsong’ shows a side of experimentation and creativity, while coincidentally boasting its true colors. The second track ‘Transmissions’ featuring Maazel takes more of a melodic stance, bringing us back to the roots of graves’ alias. Emotional, heartfelt chord progressions followed by a powerful future-bass style drop that almost feels like a combination of his older tracks ‘Lost Boys’ and ‘Hilo.’

graves consistently puts his heart and soul into his work, showing the true passion and drive he has for his craft. Daedal yet lucid and recognizable, graves has a way of connecting to his fans through music unlike anyone else, and man are we excited for what’s next. Be sure to give the two tracks a listen below!

Hawaiian-born graves needs no introduction to anyone who has been around since the golden days of SoundCloud. From his early hits to his more recent anthems, the creative genius has continuously impressed listeners through his vast catalog of partially emotional, partially heavy-hitting releases. Now, graves is back with his most sophisticated work to date, the Far From Here EP. Timing it nicely with his current Far From Here tour, the sophomore project is sure to add depth, emotion and energy to his sets.

Boasting collaborations with versatile producers such as Zeke Beats, Hex Cougar and Fytch, and commanding vocalists such as EZI, Lil Narnia and Velvetears, the seven-track project is an emotional journey, like a puzzle connecting sound and feelings. While tracks such as ‘Intro’, ‘Glass Hearts (How Much You Mean)’ and ‘I’m Fine’ are sure to become festival mainstays, the second half of the project is ballad-driven, made for listening in the comfort of your own home. Swaying from emotional bangers to introspective bops, graves depicts the vulnerability of individuals throughout his extensive project, while also reminding us that this is simply part of human nature and that we are not alone. A single listen-through is sure to evoke the strongest feelings in any artistic soul.

Open your heart and immerse yourself in the emotional journey that is the Far From Here EP.

Hawaiian born producer graves has had quite the come up over the past few years: from becoming a SoundCloud favourite with tracks like ‘The Plague’ and ‘No Sunshine,’ to dropping a stellar debut EP in Hilo, and now building mass anticipation for his sophomore EP and headlining tour Far From Here. If all that wasn’t enough, the talented producer just unleashed what is sure to be one of the biggest tracks of his career in ‘Arcus.’ Not only is it a collaboration with legendary producer RL Grime, it’s also the first release on Grime’s new label Sable Valley. With a massive 2019 ahead of him and his headlining tour kicking off tomorrow, we felt it was only right to connect with graves to get an inside look at some of the tunes he’ll be rinsing out. Check out his Top 7 Floor Fillers below along with the full tour dates and our ticket giveaway.

graves & Hex Cougar feat. Lil Narnia – Glass Hearts

My newest single, always love working with Hex Cougar on tunes and lil Narnia is a beast on vocals. This one is a must play in all of my sets.

PEEKABOO – Maniac

PEEKABOO is my favorite new producer, he has such a tasteful take on bangers. We’ve got a few things we’ve been cooking up so keep your ears up for those popping up soon too.

Matroda – H8TERS

This is just fun as fuck to play out. Def my favorite uptempo record at the moment.

graves – I’m Fine

A single off my new EP with EZI. It’s got a really unique vibe and takes kids on a journey. Big drops and softer moments all in the same 3 minutes.

graves & RL Grime – Arcus

Me and RL Grime have always worked great together. This is such a big and euphoric record I close a lot of sets with.

Deathpact – Formality

I honestly don’t know much about this dude, but his take on the aggressive industrial synths is so dope. It’s dancy and brutal all at the same time.

Ekali – Babylon (Skrillex & Ronny J Remix)

Anything with Skrillex drums just absolutely goes. Denzyl’s vocals push this track forward in a way that it’s impossible to not knock your head too.

Mochizuki was put on the map working as a producer and engineer on Kanye West’s Grammy Award winning 2010 album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Also during this period, he earned credits on albums by Kid Cudi, Justin Bieber, Big Sean, and others.

Adopting the name graves in 2015, Mochizuki started releasing his music online and quickly garnered a fan base for his kinetic, atmospheric, and often experimental sound. His 2016 single ‘Came Up‘ with Post Malone, Flosstradamus, and Key! has garnered over 50 million streams worldwide, and set the stage for his 2017 debut EP Hilo, which reached #1 on iTunes electronic. Never looking back, graves has since toured relentlessly, playing festivals such as Life Is Beautiful, HARD Summer, and Electric Zoo’s 10 year anniversary, as well as supporting RL Grime’s NOVA tour around the US.

Hot off a quintessential future bass remix for What So Not & San Holo’s ‘If You Only Knew’, graves is back with a new single titled ‘I’m Fine’ featuring EZI. The track represents graves’ most emotional and telling work to date, and is the culmination of over a year of steady work in the studio. ‘I’m Fine’ accurately captures the human condition, and the way humans will trick themselves and others into thinking everything is alright, even in times of substantial pain and darkness. “EZI and I wrote this song for everyone who’s not fine,” graves states in a tweet. The talented producer channels those emotions into an expressive and energetic ballad, and in doing so helps to shine a light to those currently experiencing that darkness, letting them know they’re not alone.

The lead single from his forthcoming sophomore EP Far From Here, ‘I’m Fine’ will definitely make you feel some type of way. Check out the track and music video below!

With the release of X he’s officially arrived. The 5 track projects sees JUDGE connecting with some of the best in the game, from Alexander Lewis and X&G, to Wax Motif and graves. The Dylan Brady assisted ‘Bark,’ kicks things off with ominous undertones, futuristic sound design and of course a few solid dog samples. ‘Blades’ is exactly what you’d expect from an X&G collaboration; dark, dirty and teetering on insane. With Alexander Lewis bringing the brass for ‘Bright,’ it’s an easy standout with an epic air. ‘Lessons’ is a hybrid record that moves between viscous trap, ignorant rap and bouncy G-House (shout out Wax Motif). A fitting conclusion is brought forth on ‘Rush’ with graves. The record packs a grande soundscape with some sinister yet emotional leanings. X is a hard-hitting offering that makes a strong statement. Don’t sleep on JUDGE.

From the heavy tones of the opener ‘Genesis’ to the rolling, expressive vibes on ‘Need You’ featuring Rayless and Mitch Geist, this collection is vastly varied and has fine attention to detail throughout. The silky smooth but heartfelt ‘Blame’ ft. LocateEmilio isn’t to be missed, as is the case with the EP’s epic closer featuring Boombox Cartel. which also happens to be the title track.

Flosstradamus’ ‘Came Up’ was the 2016 anthem for making it. Featuring vocals from Post Malone and Key! plus production from graves & Fki 1st, the tune was yet another example of the power of collabs. Giving the tune some 2017 legs comes an official remix pack. Kicking things off comes a high energy flip from Jorgen Odegard. It’s a blend of trap and future bass that packs a similar punch to the original with a little more boom. RICKYXSAN really flips the track on its head. Drawing out the intro to make Post Malone’s vocals seem almost choir-esq, it’s a slowed and wonked out re-imagination that’s off-kilter but incredible. Giving the track the VIP treatment, graves links up with CLIPS x AHOY to crank this one to the max. Finally, closing things out comes CASPER AND B’s rework which mixes sugary, summer-inspired melodies with some deep bounce. It’s hard to pick a favorrite, so bump them all.
