Stepping into the new year with finesse, Kill Feed carefully constructs bass components in a thought-provoking manner. His latest ‘PAYBACK!’ dissects higher-end frequencies and sounds while tossing them across distinct percussion patterns. In the previous year, we saw his first Never Say Die original ‘Without You‘ in addition to plentiful originals and remixes. Being nearly three years since the birth of his new project, it feels as we have barely begun to witness the capability and potential Kill Feed carries.

Now, Kill Feed returns to Never Say Die with ‘PAYBACK!,’ where he seeks retribution. An unsettling intro surfaces and faces difficulty in dealing with the increased anticipation. While the track steadily molds together it comes to a brief halt before Kill Feed lets loose a pristine new sound. Wicked bass. Pure innovation. Experimental riddim? Dubstep? Whatever title you choose ‘PAYBACK!’ is downright bass excellence.

What else will Kill Feed conjure up in 2022? Explore ‘PAYBACK!’ out via Never Say Die in the meantime to get a glimpse.

Since the inception of his new alias in late 2019, Kill Feed has been a solid force in the dubstep scene with a couple of EPs, remixes and singles fortifying his catalogue of quality tunes. From full-on riddim to trap-leaning brutes, the Belgian producer has consistently delivered an onslaught of mind-melting tunes, but it turns out that he has even more tricks up his sleeve.

With his first original on Never Say Die out today, Kill Feed has decided to lace his newest track with a layer of emotion and feels that were mostly absent from his previous works. Written for his girlfriend, ‘Without You’ is brief but beautiful, with a lengthy introduction boasting a garage-like palette building up the butterflies in your stomach before an abrupt change of pace leads the track to its crescendo. Minimal in aesthetic but powerful in sound, ‘Without You’ hits in all the right spots, with a second drop that is so serene that you might even shed a tear.

Who knew Kill Feed had that in him. Don’t miss “Without You’ below.

Only a few months ago, Never Say Die celebrated its milestone tenth anniversary with a plethora of VIPs of classic label tracks as well as several shows across the globe. Now, it’s Black Label‘s turn to celebrate, as the label hits its 100th release at the same time as its fifth anniversary. The hundredth release is a versatile piece from the label’s favourite newcomer, Kill Feed, and today we have the honour of premiering the delectable piece that is ‘Cheesecake.’

It seems like just yesterday that we had the opportunity to interview Kill Feed, welcoming him to the esteemed label and getting his thoughts on joining such an elite roster. Less than six months later, the Belgian producer returns to Never Say Die: Black Label with four menacing tracks as part of his Valley Of Death EP, and ‘Cheesecake’ is among the most fitting for the imprint and most reminiscent of the producer’s early style.

The introduction to ‘Cheesecake’ is lighthearted and upbeat, giving listeners a sense of false hope and, dare we say, representing the sonic equivalent to a New York-style cheesecake topped with strawberries. However, once the fifty-second mark hits, all fruitfulness is lost as Kill Feed unleashes a wicked dubstep flow highlighted by punchy sound design and crisp percussion that reminds us of the most decadent dark chocolate cheesecake known to man. The drops are snappy, enthralling and gruelling all at once, attesting to Kill Feed’s rapid evolution as an artist. Don’t miss ‘Cheesecake’ below and stay tuned for the Valley Of Death EP out on Friday.

“New name, same me.”

After a mean contribution to Never Say Die: Black Label‘s XL 6 compilation, 5OHMAN decided it was time for change. Adopting the new moniker Kill Feed, the Belgian bass producer makes his full project debut on Black Label today with the Multiplayer EP.

A five-track beast, the Multiplayer EP sees Kill Feed adopting his new vision with immense prowess, displaying elevated production skills over the course of various solo tracks. In track such as ‘The Mothership’ and ‘Game Over,’ Kill Feed uses ominous introductions before unleashing high-frequency bass stabs that blur the lines between dubstep and hybrid trap. Conversely, in ‘Exit’ and ‘Scarecrow,’ Kill Feed showcases his grungy riddim roots with rhythmic percussion and guttural basses. ‘Super’ ties nicely between the two pairs of tracks, where a relentless tear-out style shines in destructive fashion.

We had the opportunity to catch up with Kill Feed to discuss the Belgian bass scene, adopting a new alias and its expected challenges, and the future direction of the project. Don’t miss the Multiplayer EP and accompanying interview below.

Welcome, Kill Feed! How are you doing recently?

Feeling very grateful that’s for sure!

How is the bass/dubstep scene in Belgium and surrounding areas? What is one aspect you love about it and one aspect that you would change/improve?

The scene is active, but I feel like it hasn’t reached its full potential yet. The thing I like about the scene in Belgium is how big riddim has gotten here, also the way I grew with it in some way. The one thing I want changed in the Belgian scene is the way they treat local artists. They treat the locals like they are nothing – doesn’t matter how big your following is.

What do you hope to see in the dubstep scene in the coming months/year? Do you feel originality has stagnated or is it thriving and better than ever?

I hope to see the scene get bigger than it has ever been. In the scene today, it takes a lot to be really original with the music you make. The most important thing for me is to stay happy with it and enjoy what I produce.

Who are a few names we should be keeping an eye on who are pushing the latter?

There are way too many to mention, but the ones that really stand out for me at the moment have to be BVSSIC, JUB, ODDPROPHET, MIGHTY DUCK, TRVCY, YARI, SYZY, and YUNIT.

Big congratulations for the recent signing! How do you think this new opportunity will impact your career?

From now on, all I can do is grow!

You’ve had some big releases recently, from an EP on Buygore, to a remix on Disciple, to your contribution to Black Label XL 6, all of which are a sign of your constant growth as a producer. What techniques or skills have you been working on over the last year to really elevate your game?

I’ve been spending most of my time trying out new stuff in serum. Also, I’ve been experimenting with different ways to start a project.

You’ve recently adopted a new alias, which can’t be the easiest thing as an established artist. What do you expect the biggest challenges will be in the early stages of the Kill Feed project?

The biggest thing, I think, is that my older fans will have a hard time adapting to the new name. In the end, it’s still the same person making the music!

Along the same lines, we are stoked to have the exclusive opportunity to get your thoughts on the debut Kill Feed project, the Multiplayer EP. How long has this EP been in the works?

I honestly cannot remember. All I know is that I really tried to make a different type of style with this project.

The range, styles and sounds are extremely diverse throughout the project yet all fit in well as a five-track piece. Did you have a certain theme in mind to help tie each track together to ensure it flowed well from start to finish? Which track took you the longest to tie into this theme?

Originally, I wanted to go for a very religious/satanic kind of look for this project. But once I started working on ‘Game Over’ (which also took me the longest to make), I had plans for a different idea that, in the end, became Multiplayer.

The Multiplayer EP is certainly a warm introduction to what we can expect from Kill Feed. What is your goal with the project moving forward?

I wanna travel the world and play my music wherever I get the chance to. I also want to meet as many fans as possible, as I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them!

Any final thoughts you’d like to share?

Eat ass, puff gas.
