Distorted strands of vocals resonate amid steely thrusts of echoing percussion as the track bridles an arrhythmic tempo. A brief audible reticence unleashes a sinewy fiber of synths that wavers seamlessly along the length of the track.

Cut straight from the earliest pages of the SHADES catalog, ‘Chiron’ is cohesive in nature and execution, and a terrific segue deeper into the dark minds of EPROM & Alix Perez, check out the full track below!

A project synthesized in complete suspension of luminance, Shades tenders to darkly malevolent and mournfully mysterious soundscapes. Birthed from the ingenious minds of Alix Perez & EPROM, the project precipitates nonconformity, catering to the eclectic periphery of experimental bass and revealing a genuine, authentic opportunity for extended transcontinental collaboration.

Fittingly so, Black Heart Communion furthers the endeavor for opposition, plunging head-first into the vague, but undisturbed darkness as tenebrous strands of ‘Lurking’ embrace you. A precursive aura lingers, cloaked exclusively by an obedient rhythmic clicking before the prodigious, unrelenting vespers of ‘Two One Six’ prevail.

[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/597967764″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

The acute precision of the project transpires as fulminating billows taper a jagged, irresistible acoustic environment on ‘Iron Sharpens Iron’, launching crisply into a sinewy, guileful analog cadence. Palpable, impenetrable darkness persists spiraling further into the aphotic chasm of the unknown as ‘Black Heart Communion’ contorts into tilted slats of incongruously dominant bass and entrancing digital mixdowns.

‘Womb’ presents a prophetic salutation, gently prodding the campaign toward an ominous fate, instilling one final shred of uncertainty as Black Heart Communion reaches a perilous conclusion.

Their latest collaborative song, ‘Creepin,” is off their upcoming EP, Night of the Dreadless Angel. As the name suggests, the song feels like it inches towards you like a massive swarm of angry insects, then makes no hesitation in unleashing some low-down, gritty bass for the rest of its entirety. Combined with the use of half-time cuts, heavy distortion, and all-around filth, you can’t help but feel it overwhelm you and reverberate through your body as you embrace the lowest of frequencies. The track even feels like it has the slightest hint of riddim embedded deep within it.

The EP itself is set to be released on March 24th, and is available for pre-order on Bandcamp. In the meantime, check out ‘Creepin” below!
