Last month Russian producer Slowrize made his captivating debut with ‘Breathe.’ The track perfectly balanced futuristic feels with a heavy trap leaning. It’s not often I become an instant fan but ‘Breathe’ had me sold. Proving my fandom wasn’t premature comes an equally impressive follow-up entitled ‘Joylove’.
“I was inspired by Medasin, Sam Gellaitry, Oshi, but when I wrote it my main inspiration was my girl. ‘Joylove’ is our story,” Slowrize tells us. Opening with touching keys, it slowly pulls you in. Warm vocal bends inject an infatuated anticipation. The drop is that first deep connection, taking things from a crush to the uneasy and excited flutters of new love. A breakdown deepens the bond before launching into a final drop that’s smoother than the first but still packing the passion. If you like future beat tunes or melodic trap, you might just fall in love.
