G Jones set the bar incredibly high with the release of his debut album The Ineffable Truth back in 2018. Creating a contender for electronic album of the year, the artist unveiled an unparalleled ability to mesh beauty and chaos under the broad envelope of bass music, and none have been able to reproduce that dichotomy with such grace. Since then, G Jones has continued to showcase why he’s considered among the most unique producers in the game through a handful of EPs, singles and remixes, as he consistently manages to stay true to his sound without omitting an innovative feel.

All of the previous works have culminated to today, as G Jones is now ready to share his sophomore album Paths with his loyal (and surely growing) fanbase. As mentioned, topping The Ineffable Truth appeared to be an insurmountable feat, but knowing that G Jones constantly strives for perfection left hope for greatness. And with Paths, greatness was achieved. It seems that so many established electronic artists have released albums in 2023, thus creating immediate hype before fizzling out in a week or two. However, Paths is sure to become a timeless record. It’s the evolution of G Jones as an artist, further demonstrating his ability to weave through a plethora of sonic territories without ever sounding disjoint.

Paths spans eleven tracks and just over 36 minutes, with G Jones surprisingly choosing to omit one of the track’s singles, ‘Daydreams,’ from the album. It’s simultaneously exactly what one could expect from the artist, yet so much more. It’s a multi-genre opus that refuses to conform to a singular genre. It’s lively and introspective. It’s chaotic and controlled. It’s G Jones.

To accompany the project, G Jones and his visual collaborators have meticulously crafted an entirely new audiovisual world: Paths Live. Promising to be an incredible experience, be sure to catch the artist on his tour in a city near you, and dive into Paths below.

Few pairs of artists have better chemistry than G Jones and Eprom. Individually, the producers are trendsetters and influencers in the bass realm. Together, this statement is amplified tenfold, as previous concoctions such as ‘Daemon Veil‘ and ‘Hysteria‘ still have a lasting impact on sounds rampant throughout the scene to this day. Forward-thinking while having a deep appreciation for the style of music that has shaped the modern era, G Jones and Eprom fuse classic sounds with innovative ideas to break down the barriers of cookie-cutter electronic music.

To the pleasure of many, the pair of producers announced Acid Disk Vol. 2 earlier this week, a follow-up to their 2017 project. With the announcement comes the first single, ‘On My Mind,’ which further showcases the outside-the-box mentality that the pair continuously strive towards. It’s difficult to do this one justice with words. Aside from the obvious acid touch, ‘On My Mind’ boasts influence from breakbeat, dubstep, and even jersey club, simultaneously sounding chaotic as it does controlled and complex. It’s eclectic yet grounded, and ominous yet lively. ‘On My Mind’ is truly something only G Jones and Eprom could ever create. Don’t miss it below.

Teaming up with West Coast-based granular synthesis sensation Bleep Bloop, the two producers set to work giving a textured bass treatment to A$AP Rocky’s coveted 2013 rap anthem, ‘M’s’, that features protracted fragments of distorted vocals amid plunges of gritty bass and pulsating digital fills.

A true bass music visionary, G Jones has proven countless times over that he is among the greatest at pushing new, inventive sounds to unparalleled heights. From The Ineffable Truth to the more recent ‘Dark Artifact‘ and ‘Drift (Acid Mix),’ the creative genius has propelled his quest to stardom with pieces that break all barriers of conformity, seeing immense success dominating the festival circuit this year. With the latter two aforementioned tracks released as singles from his Tangential Zones EP that is out today, we can confidently say that G Jones’ follow up to The Ineffable Truth boasts an otherworldly level of ingenuity.

‘Immortal Light’ kicks thing off in high gear, bringing listeners to a hyper-realistic universe of bass as an acid-inspired introduction quickly evolves into a relentless offering of mesmerizing frequencies. Perhaps the closest thing G Jones has ever made to dubstep, the opening track is sure to sweep you off your feet. ‘Dark Artifact’ follows, keeping the intensity from the first track alive through its puzzling plucks and synths. Acting as a bridge to the latter half of the project, ‘Dream Fatigue’ sees G Jones unleash his inner trap demons to deliver a minimally wonky piece that possesses an incredibly natural flow. ‘See Right Through’ comes next, echoing parallels from ‘That Look In Your Eye’ with those distinct vocal samples without escaping any sense of uniqueness. A five-minute opus, ‘See Right Through’ is the embodiment of G Jones at his finest, combining hypnotizing melodies with euphoric sections of bass that perfectly balance each other from start to finish. As Tangential Zones comes to a close with ‘Drift (Acid Mix),’ listeners are reminded of the timeless journey of G Jones’ musical offerings.

It’s too bad Tangential Zones is out now because it will likely miss many “Best Of 2019” lists, but we can assure you that it belongs at the top. Don’t miss it below.

Over seven years ago, bass music visionary G Jones released his first full length project, and along with it came ‘DRIFT,’ a track that, among many, showed us how the talented producer is always ahead of the curve. Since then, the track has gotten an energetic VIP treatment from the man himself, as well as a mind-bending remix from Mad Zach.

Ahead of his upcoming Tangential Zones EP, G Jones has returned with another rework of the classic, this time dubbing it ‘Drift (Acid Mix).’ A follow up to ‘Dark Artifact,’ this newest mix gives us a taste of past, present and future G Jones, using key elements from the original but not dwelling on them too long before unleashing the perplexing bass madness that he has shown in recent times. Perhaps the most intense version of the track when the drop hits, ‘Drift (Acid Mix)’ is a futuristic, laser-filled ode to a timeless tune and sees G Jones further establish himself as a true musical mastermind. Combining his heavy-hitting frequencies with interlude-driven sections reminiscent of The Ineffable Truth, the talented producer has outdone himself once again.

‘Posse’ is a track that emphatically predates any sonic comparison of its kind. An abnormally precursive vocal sample sets into motion an unnerving echoing of steely percussion and muffled invocation, which gently dissipates as an incisive blade sets loose a mercurial torrent of low-resonating bass frequencies.

Despite being regarded as one of the best in experimental bass music over the last few years, it was G Jones’ debut album The Ineffable Truth that really propelled him to the legend status. A true innovator who is always leagues ahead of the curve, everything the talented producer touches is sure to leave you speechless while simultaneously exploding your brain through its sheer complexity. The most recent example of this is his collaboration with Eprom titled ‘Daemon Veil,’ and today the musical mastermind returns with his first solo original since last year’s epic album.

The track, titled ‘Dark Artifact,’ is the first single of G Jones’ upcoming Tangential Zones EP. Exceeding expectations once again, G Jones has concocted a puzzling mind-bender, unwavering with energy from start to finish. A plucky arpeggio that is present throughout drives the vivacity of ‘Dark Artifact,’ while a plethora of added intricacies are layered to drive any listener into insanity. Impossible to classify within a genre as with most of his tracks, ‘Dark Artifact’ is a conglomeration of various acid and breakbeat influences with a modern flair.

Melodic, complex, and hard. It is not fair to have all three, but G Jones has done it again. Don’t miss ‘Dark Artifact’ below.

Eprom and G Jones are not human. Despite a lack of scientific evidence, there are inclinations that suggest that these two come from a distant planet where bass music producers are leagues ahead of those from Earth. As two pioneers in the experimental scene, it seems everything these two touch, be it solo or collaborative, is miles beyond what anyone has ever attempted to conjure up in the past. Although they are no strangers to working together and have proven their joint ingenuity in the past, their last collaboration came back in 2017 and it was due time for their reunion. Today, the order in the bass music world is disturbed once again as Eprom and G Jones come together on ‘Daemon Veil,’ a beast of epic proportions.

Showcasing their expansive musical capabilities and artistic synchronicity, ‘Daemon Veil’ is a wicked collaborative triumph. It is truly remarkable how each artist makes himself heard as the track progresses, before the lines completely blur into sonic insanity. G Jones makes himself heard in the introduction with his ‘EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE’ sounding chords and usual breakbeat-inspired percussion, before a commanding vocal sample gives us a taste of both producers working cohesively. When the drop hits at the eighty six second mark, listeners are thrown into a whirlwind of resonating synths and pulsating effects, where all hope of distinguishing the two musical geniuses is lost. An intricate arrangement of chaotic drums, vibrating basses and futuristic stabs shine at the forefront in the following section, displaying Eprom and G Jones’ ability to turn complete disorder into complex harmony.

‘Daemon Veil’ is the true embodiment of boundary-pushing, forward-thinking bass music. Check it out below.

While there is no denying that The Ineffable Truth was among the best projects of 2018 due to its sheer ingenuity and off-kilter essence, one might be hard-pressed to hear most of the tracks from the album outside of a G Jones set. The raw complexity found in each track proves to be a daunting task to mix with any other similar-sounding piece, which is truly unfortunate because there are many songs that would go off during festival season.

However, bass legend RL Grime has seized this opportunity to flip one of the album’s hardest tracks into a mainstage-ready heater. The highly-anticipated edit of ‘In Your Head’ has finally seen the light of day, with RL Grime proving that sometimes, less is more. The aura of the original is kept alive, from the eerie vocals to the sinister melodies, but a slight change of pace and a rework of the synth arrangement in the drops turn ‘In Your Head’ from a futuristic bass demon into a frenzy-inducing crowd-pleaser. Don’t miss the epic edit below.

As the profound epilogue of The Ineffable Truth tour reaches finality, it only seemed fitting to unearth a preceding antiquity from the extensive arsenal of releases G Jones has to offer over the course of his nearly decade-long dynasty. His first ever vinyl release, ‘Ghetto Bird’ with doshy predates the bulk of G Jones releases but deserves just as much attention today as it received back in 2013 when the track was first released via SATURATE Records.

An exemplary depiction of the creative dexterity and production genius that have enabled G Jones to reign supreme at such length, ‘Ghetto Bird’ begins with a commanding ensemble of horns that give even the opening moments of the track an air of confidence and precision. A vertiginous riser pierces the air, like a frenzied anthem for a robotic warbird, as a brutal mixdown blends seamlessly into pulsing bass notes and a heightened avian refrain.

With a timestamp of nearly 6 years ago, ‘Ghetto Bird’ is a gregarious species and picturesque depiction of a collaboration that fires on all cylinders, solidifying G Jones as a sonic preference of perpetuating infamy.
