The 30-minute mix is exclusively unreleased originals from the duo as well as a few special treats from FLY, LYNY, Jon Casey, capshun, and Dabow x Bailo. Weird, wonky and wonderful, this mix is 30 minutes of bliss for bassheads.

At the beginning of each year we want to give some direction to the people were our vibe is gonna be for the year. Just showing IDs sometimes in stories and posts wasn’t enough for us. So what better way to do it then with a 30 min ID mix and a j on your side.

 

As for why we chose those other tunes, they are all amazing artists and homies and their music should spread. Also they fit very well into the mix.

While it would take a novel to do every track justice, we have hand-selected a few favourites from the bunch to highlight today. And before we get into it, we highly implore you to dive into the compilation as a whole to form your own opinion, pick your own favourites, and appreciate the full breadth of talent on display in LM026.

The first standout comes from the ever-talented Chromonicci in ‘Teleporters.’ Doing what he has done so many times in the past, the producer fuses trap and bounce like no other in his latest tune, luring listeners in with a minimal approach that screams less is more. Not too complex but meticulously concocted, ‘Teleporters’ demonstrates Chromonicci’s undeniable talent in manipulating sounds.

The next standout comes from Losco and ONHELL, who teeter on the side of dubstep with their brute titled ‘Carnal.’ The track is ominous and sinister, borrowing elements from trap but carrying a halftime swagger with it that makes it so much darker and heavier. It’s unruly and unusual for a Lucid Monday contribution, but slaps way too hard to omit from the standouts.

Finally, the elusive zotti makes his return in a collaboration with FUXWITHIT favourites L*o*J in a stomping heater named ‘Pullup’ that meshes their styles to a tee. zotti’s vibrant sound makes itself heard throughout, while L*o*J contribute an arm-swinging vibe that makes ‘Pullup’ the type of tune that will make you flip your desk. Simply put, it boasts a confidence and swank that should be illegal.

So ‘Supersonic’ was written beginning 2021. We actually decided to go back to the L*o*J roots when we started with this project. This is more L*o*J in 2015. We were in a very tribal mood that night and we started to dig through ancient vocals/flutes and tribal/exotic sounds. The idea of that song was to bring people into a certain state where they feel like they’re in an ancient fantasy jungle/desert. Ancient historical flutes and singing with a touch of heavy futuristic elements and basslines combined in a beat describes almost exactly what we think would exist as a music form in places like Naboo or Pandora. – L*o*J

Pulling from their early roots, ‘Supersonic’ is a tribal-influenced trap banger. Wordly and exotic soundscapes dance with aggressive bass and pounding percussion. There’s a mystical undercurrent that’s balanced against the aggressive nature of the drops. Ancient meets futuristic for a sound that’s spiritual yet polished. The sound design is inventive and forward-thinking while the instrumentation presents a more organic feel. Vocal chants add depth and powerful feelings making this more than your typical banger. ‘Supersonic’ invites you into an elevated state of existence that you won’t want to leave.

The vocal is hypnotic and the track takes you into another dimension. From classic trap to mind-bending sound design, brutish bounce, and even a hazy, dripped out finale, it never stagnates and just keeps getting better.

Chill bangers seem like an oxymoron until you experience them for yourself, and then they’re all you want to hear. Evil Needle’s ‘Lift Off’ presents the tranquility of chilling on a tropical beach with a banging drop to take you to the beach club before allowing you to fully unwind and enjoy the breeze.
