Wax Motif is a young house legend. Originally hailing from Sydney, Australia, Wax has become a staple in the LA music scene over the past few years with releases on Mad Decent, Confession, Night Bass, Musical Freedom and more. He’s one of the key producers behind the G-House movement and has worked with everyone from Destructo and GTA, to Pusha T and Ty Dolla $ign. His new single ‘Wet’ is out now on Mad Decent and is setting clubs and festivals on fire. We had the pleasure of catching up with Wax Motif for a video interview after his set at Ever After Music Festival. We spoke to him about his love for house music, producing other genres, his favourite rapper to work with, weed and his creative process, playing soccer with Diplo and Chris Lorenzo and more. Ahead of the project and in the midst of his North America tour we had the chance to connect with Hydraulix for an in-depth interview. We discuss how Jack Beats & Rusko made him want to become a producer, what it was like living with Oski, his relationship with Quality Goods Records, his upcoming EP and much more. Today is a very special day for us at FUXWITHIT. We are proud to announce the debut of our new original web series Beats & Eats. The show pairs some of the hottest artists in the game with some of the best food spots in Toronto, for a meal and in-depth conversation. For our first episode we have a very special guest: the London legend TroyBoi. We connected with Troy during his Toronto stop on The Mantra Tour. With timing tight due to travel delays, The Thompson Diner hooked up a stellar meal for take out. We ran it over to The Hoxton just after he finished his sound check and ate right on the dance floor.

In the midst of his Steal This Tour, we had the chance to catch up with YehMe2 for an exclusive video interview. We touched on a wide range of topics, from his departure from Flosstradamus, to his love for remixes, his shoe game, his favourite ways to get high and more. Along with the interview we had YehMe2 play a game we like to call Weed Strain or DJ. It’s as straightforward as it sounds. We give him a name that is either a weed strain or a DJ and he has to tell us which it is. As a seasoned smoker and veteran DJ he did expectedly well. Perth production duo Slumberjack have been on our radar for years. Ever since the release of their ‘Touched’ edit, they’ve been steadily impressing. Over the years they’ve constantly evolved and expanded their incredible signature sound. Elements of world music, trap, future bass and a touch of pop are melded with wild sound design for an unparalleled listening experience. 2017 has been their biggest year to date, releasing a stellar EP on Mad Decent, collaborating with the likes of KRANE and QUIX x josh pan, touring with TroyBoi and so much more. During their Toronto tour stop we had the pleasure of connecting with the Morgan and Fletcher for an in-depth interview.

The interview covers a wide array of topics. They compare their live sets against DJing and explain how they decided create their own visuals. They take us deep into their production process, from drawing inspiration from film and creating a visual universe, to sampling world music and making their own sounds. Other highlights include discussion around a possible TroyBoi collaboration, exploring new genres, Morgan’s experience with Synesthesia and the idea of adding magic into their sets. Since the release of their ‘Touched’ edit, they’ve been consistently killing the game. Their signature sound; a blend of wordly influences and hard-hitting trap and future bass has made them an industry favourite. They’re currently on tour with TroyBoi and we had the pleasure of connecting with them for some dope video content. YehMe2 Talks Leaving Flosstradamus, His Love For Remixes & More [Interview]

As half of Flosstradamus, Josh Young helped to create and expand the trap genre. Over their twelve year span together they went from local Chicago DJs, to MySpace era favourites, to one of the biggest names in electronic music. They also helped bring together the worlds of rap and electronic music and put out countless classic tracks. In late 2016 their tenure as duo came to an end, as Josh announced that he would be leaving Flosstradamus to pursue his solo career as YehMe2. Since the announcement he’s been on a tear, getting back to his roots and flooding the game with a multitude of massive remixes ranging from Justin Timberlake and Drake, to DJ Shadow and Anna Lunoe. He’s currently in the midst of his Steal This Tour in North America. His first as a solo artist. During his stop in Toronto we had the honour of sitting down with him for an in-depth video interview. Our conversation touched on his departure from Flosstradamus, his love for remixes, his shoe game, favourite way to get high, what drives him and more. Check out the full interview below.

Memorecks Talks Being A YouTube OG, Production, Advice From Zeds Dead + More [Interview]

Earlier this year Memorecks had an intimate headlining show in Toronto with frequent collaborator Jenna Pemkowski. The concert had the two performing an incredibly moving live set as well as Memorecks killing it on the MPC. We had the pleasure of connecting with Memorecks ahead of the show to touch on a wide array of topics from his early days on YouTube and his beat video evolution, to working with Jenna and turning down advice from Zeds Dead. You can check out the full interview below. We’ve also include two additional must watch videos. The most striking is a clip of their live set that has them performing ‘Collapse.’ The final video is an awesome exploration of collective false memories that includes Shaq, Sinbad and Kazaam. As Sylvan LaCue gears up for the release of his EP Apologies In Advance, he’s blessed us with yet another single. ‘Selfish’ continues the string of reflective and introspective self-produced releases that includes ‘Grateful,’ ‘Best Me’ and ‘Guilt Trip.’ The latest is a personal reminder of the importance of self-care. It explores Sylvan’s desire to constantly place others ahead of himself and the realization that it isn’t healthy. It’s an important message that’s deep but also simplistic. Although it’s about the artist himself, it’s definitely something that we can all relate to. Listen to the track below and check out the stunning visual.
